Every year Walt Disney World hosts runners from all over the world that take part in runDisney events across Disney Parks. But you don’t have to be a champion runner to get in on the action. With runs for every level of runner, kids, and even virtual opportunities, here’s everything to know about runDisney.

runDisney Coast to Coast Races

Complete any 10-mile race––or longer––at both Walt Disney World® Resort and the Disneyland® Resort in the same calendar year and receive a runDisney Coast to Coast Race Challenge medal! Walt Disney World Races 2026

Walt Disney World in 2026, is set to features several races throughout the year. The Marathon, Princess Half Marathon, Springtime Surprise and Wine and Dine races are all in the lineup.

Marathon Weekend Disney World RunDisney 2026

runDisney Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend | January 7- 11, 2026

Themed to different storybook genres, the Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend presented by State Farm promises to be quite the page turner! You can enjoy a sci-fi 5K hosted by Pluto. Go nuts over a mysterious 10K led by Chip ‘n Dale. Fall for a romantic half marathon featuring Donald Duck and Daisy Duck. Or experience a fantasy-filled marathon ruled by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. You can also take on the side-splitting Goofy’s Race and a Half Challenge (made up of both the half marathon and marathon) or go for the ultimate fairy tale feat by conquering the Dopey Challenge consisting of all four marathon weekend races! runDisney Princess Half Marathon 2026

runDisney Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend | February 26- March 2, 2026

Every Disney Princess has been on her own unique and incredible journey. And during the 2026 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, runDisney® athletes can celebrate those journeys––and live their very own––over five fantastical days at Walt Disney Resort.

From February 26–March 2, 2026, join us for this fairy-tale weekend where you can embrace your fate—or change it—during the Disney Princess 5K. See how far you’ll go as part of the Disney Princess 10K. Get tangled up in the fun of the Disney Princess Half Marathon. Or go beast mode by taking on the Disney Fairytale Challenge made up of both the 10K and Half Marathon. Featuring an array of characters, this race arrives with a surprise theme and a slew of race, and sunrise yoga opportunities.

runDisney Wine & Dine Weekend | October 22- 25, 2026

Celebrate all the flavors you can find throughout World Showcase at EPCOT® as you run through it…and throughout Walt Disney World® Resort… during the 2026 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. Centered around the tastes and tales of World Showcase countries, you can enjoy miles of mouthwatering merriment during a 5K, 10K or half marathon, earning a one-of-a-kind medal for each race you finish.

Disneyland Races 2026

n 2026, runDisney® is set to “Celebrate Happy” during the Disneyland 70th Anniversary, which runs all of 2026. Featuring a variety of new experiences in the parks, you can expect tons of extra fun for your Disneyland Race visit.

Please note that due to upcoming construction impacts, runDisney races at the Disneyland® Resort will be placed on hiatus in 2026 after the conclusion of the 2026 Disneyland® Half Marathon Weekend. We will continue to offer races at Walt Disney World® Resort, as well as virtual offerings.

runDisney Disneyland Half Marathon 2026

runDisney Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend | January 29- February 1, 2026

In 2026, runDisney® is going to “Celebrate Happy” during the Disneyland® Half Marathon Weekend, January 29–February 1. Happening amid the 70th anniversary of the Disneyland® Resort, this race weekend will be centered around some of the different ways to celebrate what delights us most. So come enjoy miles of smiles during a 5K hosted by Joy from Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out. Join Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey in an imaginative 10K. Run together with a friend as part of an “it’s a small world®” attraction-themed half marathon. And, for the ultimate achievement, take on the Dumbo Double Dare challenge made up of both the 10K and the half marathon. There are even Kids’ Races hosted by Stitch and morning yoga with Miss Piggy. runDisney Virtual Races

You can also take part in a virtual race series from home! Running at a local park, in your neighborhood or your favorite place, these races typically last 1 month. You get a bib, medals, and sometimes even more swag for completing the challenge from home. Read all about our experience with the Run Disney Virtual Series Races. These are offered throughout the year as themed events!

To help mark this milestone, you can embark on a 5K all at your own pace. You can even take on a Challenge that combines all three races. But no matter which race (or races) you choose, you’ll have access to customizable digital tools like themed race bibs and finisher certificates. You’ll also earn a one-of-a-kind, attraction-themed medal for each race you run. Complete all three and take home a fourth light-up Challenge medal as well!

runDisney Registration Tips

If you’re hoping to snag a spot in any of these runDisney in-person marathons, be prepared for a virtual queue. Plan to have both your phone and computer or other devices available for registration. And if you’re trying to register for other people you’ll want a designated device for each person if possible. runDisney events tend to sell out fast so be prepared with your credit card already attached to your Disney account and the correct address on your account. This will save time during registration and will ensure you claim a spot. 

runDisney Marathon Registration

  • Due to the high demand for runDisney events, you must register on runDisney to attend.
  • Create a Disney account
  • Check the runDisney website for the day your race is open for registration.
  • Registration Opens at 10 am EST/ 7 am PST.
  • Be sure to have all runners’ information if registering multiple people.
  • Most races involve a Virtual Queue that will open at 9:30 am on the website.
  • You’ll be placed in a “virtual waiting room” and when it’s your turn add the items to your cart and checkout.
  • Registration for runDisney events often sells out in minutes! 

How to Register for a runDisney Marathon

Just like any event where there is a virtual queue it is best to know the Date of Registration and be Signed-In to your Disney Account ahead of time.

runDisney Race Types

If you think this event is just for experienced runners, think again! There’s something for all ages and even spectators get to be part of the action when they grab a ChEar package that gets them close to the finish line.

Kids Dashes

  • 12 months and under – Diaper Dash for crawlers
  • 1-4 years old – 100-Meter Dash
  • 5-8 years old – 200-Meter Dash

Races

  • 1 Mile Children ages 4 to 13 years old
  • 5K 5 years of age ( and must be able to complete the 5K on their own)
  • 10K 10 years of age or older
  • Half Marathon 14 years of age or older
  • Marathon, Goofy’s Race, and a Half Challenge, and Dopey Challenge 18 years of age or older

runDisney Marathon Changes

  • Runners attending events will tackle courses inside select parks.
  • The Marathon starts a half-hour earlier this year, at 5:00 AM.
  • Runners will get access to a new outdoor exclusive area which includes a place to take photos, pick up gear, stretch, and recover.
  • Spectators can get closer to the finish line and action with a ChEAR Squad package. This package will offer access to the finish line and a prime viewing spot in Magic Kingdom.
