With Disneyland Resort seeing multiple construction projects in 2026, crowds in the parks may feel heavier than they actually are, due to off-limit areas. As such, crowds in Disneyland are expected to be average in 2026, with evenings, weekends and holidays being the busiest. What is the Best Time to Visit Disneyland in 2026?

If you’re looking at a Disneyland Vacation in 2026, there is a lot happening, so it pays to know when to visit. As always be sure to check the Disneyland Specials Offers page for all the latest Disneyland Discounted Tickets, and Disneyland Package Deals. It’s best to visit on Weekdays Tuesdays- Thursdays, and during daytime hours, before 5 pm. The Weekends at both Disney Parks and Downtown Disney are typically very crowded due to local passholders, and long weekend vacationers.

• Weekdays in January ( Minus New Years Day, MLK Day)
• Monday- Thursday in November ( minus Veterans Day and Thanksgiving Week)
• Monday- Thursday during the 1st and 2nd week of December

Spring

• Weekdays in February ( minus holidays, and Presidents Day)

What is the Worst Time to Visit Disneyland in 2026?

The worst times to visit Disneyland are typically when everyone else is visiting. So, weekends, evenings, and all holidays are generally the worst times to visit. As many people have off work and school, and simply flock to the parks.

What’s New at Disneyland in 2026?

In addition to all the special experiences, exhibits and more for Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary, 2026 includes a variety of construction projects at Disneyland Park and California Adventure. While there are many New Attractions Coming to Disneyland, few will be ready to open in 2026. If you’re traveling to the resort in 2026, be aware that it may affect your vacation. 

Bluey’s Best Day Ever | March 22, 2026

This new Bluey experience is a family friendly fun fair at Fantasyland Theater, featuring activities, songs, and games. You can see The Grannies, try foods inspired by Bluey, and watch your favorite Bluey characters on stage in an immersive musical show.

Soarin’ Across America | July 2, 2026

Celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States, you can soar across America on Soarin’ in Disney’s California Adventure. Only for a limited time during Disney Celebrates America 250, continuing through the July 4, 2026, weekend.

Millennium Falcon Mandalorian and Grogu | May 22, 2026

Just in time for the 2026 Disney Movie Mandalorian and Grogu film hitting theaters this summer, the Millennium Falcon gets a new storyline. Complete with all the thrilling action sequences and characters you know and love from the Disney+ Series, Mandalorian.

Annual Festivals and Parties at Disneyland

In addition to things like Holidays and Disneyland Events each month 2026, you can also count on a slew of returning Annual Events at Disneyland, that you can look forward to every year! Here’s the lineup of upcoming and returning events that are happening in the parks.

runDisney Races at Disneyland in 2026

Due to upcoming construction impacts, runDisney races at the Disneyland® Resort will be placed on hiatus in 2026 after the conclusion of the 2026 Disneyland® Half Marathon Weekend presented by HONDA. Virtual races will still be offered throughout 2026.

Disneyland After Dark Events 2026

Disneyland After Dark is a series of Disney themed event nights offered throughout the year. So what do you get at Disneyland After Dark? Attendees get park access as early as 6 PM plus after hours. Photos from the party and a commemorative event guide. And you can count on a variety of themed shows, experiences and snacks, these separately ticketed events are a great way to enjoy the parks with out the crowds. Of all the Disney Parks, Disneyland is by far the one most able to host last-minute events. But that doesn’t stop us from trying to nail down all the important dates throughout the year. This is most helpful for out-of-state Disneyland travelers who may not have the ease of visiting anytime. We’ve broken this down by month so that you can see what dates events are happening, how holidays fall into the mix, and be aware. Getting a handle on what will be happening while you’re on vacation, can help you plan better. Let’s dive in. Note: Events labeled TENTATIVE  have not yet been formally announced. Disneyland Events in January 2026

Disneyland in January is most noted for the New Year’s Celebrations that take place at both Disneyland and California Adventure. with Mickey and Minnie dressed in their best outfits to celebrate a Disney Chinese New Year, the Lunar New Year’s Event brings new snacks, a parade, and merchandise. The animal for the Chinese Lunar New Year in 2026, is the Horse.

Disneyland Events in February 2026

February is all about Black History Month. As such Disney offers loads of musical appearances throughout Downtown Disney in the Celebrate Soulfully Event! This month also welcomes Valentine’s, and as Disneyland is such a hot spot for Valentine’s Day fun, and proposals, there are typically new snacks, and merchandise to celebrate the romantic season.

Disneyland Events in March 2026

One of the biggest events of the year, happening in California Adventure, is the Disneyland Food and Wine Festival! This festival brings new foods, cultural delights, and new snacks to the forefront. Find them at pop-up kitchens throughout the park. And be sure to check out the Disneyland Marketplace Food Kitchens before you go for the menus, and foods to find.

Most notable in April are the Disneyland After Dark nights, and Season of the Force, continuing through May. And much in the same vein, Dapper Day’s main events also happen in April. This includes the EXPO which highlights vendor booths, dancing, and bands, as well as the Spring outing, for guests to show off their dapper best.

May at Disneyland hosts Grad Nites, which are highly popular events and see loads of crowds on select nights. In addition to those evening events, there are also Star Wars and Cinco de Mayo events. Expect a variety of Star Wars merch, Star Wars snacks, and more as part of the fun. And for fans of Coco, Cinco de Mayo brings new snacks and merch too.

Summer is busy at Disneyland as many kids are out of school, as such the “events are minimal. June sees Black Music Month, featuring live performances at Downtown Disney, and Pride parades, events, and snacks. While the extra things at Disneyland Resort are limited, it’s still a great time to visit.

The biggest thing happening in July at Disneyland is the park’s official birthday. Often bringing special events, a parade, and snacks. There is also specialty merchandise honoring the park, and depending on the birthday year, may also include extra fanfare.

Another summer month with minimal things to do, August usually sees the beginning of the refurbishment for the Haunted Mansion ride. As such, if you’re visiting Disneyland in the hopes of riding the Haunted Mansion, check the Disneyland website before you go. August also welcomes Disney Princess Week, which includes Princesses everywhere, new Princess Snacks, and special events and activities.

Halloween at Disneyland Resort covers both parks in more ways than one! With Ride overlays, the Oogie Boogie Bash and Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit in Downtown Disney, and the arrival of Halloween treats, there is plenty to do! It’s a magical, and busy time of year, so be sure to avoid the Columbus Weekend if you’re looking for lower crowds. We recommend weekdays before 4 pm if you can manage it!

Disneyland finishes up the fall season as soon as Thanksgiving arrives and shifts gears to Christmas. This month includes the beginning of the Holiday season, which means even the Disney Hotels get decorated. You can also count on new snacks, new holiday merchandise, and more. And as usual, avoid the holiday weekends if you want to stay out of the crowds!
