Walt Disney World Restaurants for Christmas

If you’re lucky enough to be at Walt Disney World for the holiday season, then you’re in for a real treat! Christmas at Walt Disney World is truly magical. There are so many special activities and offerings, and the food is no exception. In addition to the Festival of Holidays at Epcot, there are a few restaurants we know will get you in the holiday spirit! Even if you’re not visiting exactly on Christmas Day, you’ll still find amazing food and a family atmosphere at all our favorites here.

Keep in mind, that “Christmas” at Walt Disney World arrives shortly after Halloween. Most holiday offerings start right around the second week of November, and even then, sometimes sooner than that. So when we refer to Christmas here, we are referring to Christmastime, rather than Christmas Day. If you’re traveling during the holiday season, here are some of our top picks for restaurants at Walt Disney World for Christmas.

Breakfast with Santa Disney Springs

Maria and Enzo’s at Disney Springs

This restaurant in Disney Springs offers up a wonderful seasonal menu for the holidays, and Breakfast with Santa! After enjoying breakfast, guests will get to meet Santa. Children can share their holiday wishes with him and will receive a keepsake photo from their special meet and greet. Book Breakfast with Santa at Disney Springs.

Ooey Gooey Cake at Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom

Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom

By far our favorite place for a holiday meal at Disney World, Liberty Tree Tavern serves up a budget-friendly family-style meal like no other. Complete with Turkey, mac and cheese, potatoes, and Oooey gooey cake among other things. A great selection of foods for families, this restaurant is ideal for groups and chilly days during the season.

Have you tried the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake? Because if you haven’t, you’re missing out. In the past, we’ve actually made a reservation just for the cake. It’s really that good! Ok, enough about the cake. Liberty Tree Tavern offers a traditional Thanksgiving meal all year round, but we think it’s especially perfect for Christmastime at Walt Disney World. Food is served all you care to enjoy, family-style. The food is brought right to your table and you can have as much or as little as you like.  They also offer a plant-based option, which is great if you prefer that. See the Liberty Tree Tavern Menu, to start planning your next Christmas meal at Disney World.

Hollywood and Vine at Hollywood Studios

Minnie’s Holiday Dine at Hollywood and Vine is perfect for those of you who love a character meal! With Minnie, Mickey, Pluto, and Goofy all dressed up for the holidays, you have conversations, take photos and even get signatures at this Holiday Dinner at Disney World. Hollywood and Vine is a buffet meal, so you can expect a wide variety of menu options including meats, pasta, veggies, desserts, and more. Geared towards families, this restaurant is perfect if you’re looking for Disney Restaurants for picky eaters.

The Hollywood and Vine restaurant is the resident Disney Character Restaurant at Hollywood Studios offering a buffet meal and characters in festive attire. And, it’s also the only place you get the Fab Five in costume for the holidays. Much like Akershus in Norway, Epcot the sub-par menu can sometimes be worth it just to get all the characters in one place! The food was pretty good here, but the character interactions were the best! You won’t get the budget-friendly meal like at Crystal Palace but it’s still a great experience. Definitely worth a look if you’re looking for a family-friendly restaurant in Hollywood Studios during the holidays.

Character meals at Walt Disney World are known for being pretty pricey, so plan to spend $63 per adult and $38 per child for Dinner at Hollywood and Vine Restaurant. Keep in mind, that character meals at Disney World are all about the characters. And during the holidays, even though you’re paying a bit more, it’s completely worth it if you won’t be seeing the characters elsewhere. See the full Minnie’s Holiday Dine at Hollywood and Vine Menu.

Earl of Sandwich at Disney Springs

With the expansion of Disney Springs, Earl of Sandwich has gotten much less busy over time. Which is a great thing because they used to have the longest waits! And although this may not be the first thing you think of when you think of holiday dining, hear us out. Earl of Sandwich serves a holiday sandwich, which is basically Thanksgiving on a sandwich. With turkey, gravy, stuffing, and cranberry sauce, this sandwich is still one of the best sandwiches you can find at Walt Disney World. And if you’re short on time, or just not a fan of table service restaurants, you can still enjoy the flavors of the season in this sandwich. And you can even mobile order here! Always a plus for us.

And while you’re there, be sure to check out the Christmas Tree Stroll at Disney Springs! It’s always one of our favorite holiday offerings at Walt Disney World.

Prime Time Cafe- Hollywood Studios

50’s Prime Time Cafe at Hollywood Studios

50’s Prime Time Cafe features an immersion atmosphere that lends to the fun kitschy Christmas Decorations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  And while its quirkiness of in-your-face “family members” sharing their lives with you may not be for everyone, we do think it shines a little brighter at Christmastime. The menu doesn’t change; which is a good thing since most of the food here is comfort food, perfect for the few cooler months at Walt Disney World.

Not only does the food just remind us of the holiday season, but 50’s Prime Time Cafe also gets a little makeover during the holidays! Dressed up to match the kitschy retro theme of Hollywood Studios, tinsel, and fun holiday decor add some festivity to this restaurant. You can even see “Grandma’s Living Room, complete with Christmas Tree at Tune-In Lounge. See the 50’s Prime Time Cafe Menu here, to start planning your next meal at Mom’s for the Holiday.

Goofy at Animal Kingdom Tusker House

Tusker House Holiday Dining

Another Disney character meal option for the holidays, Animal Kingdom’s Tusker House adds holiday treats to the food options through the holidays. With the restaurant decorated and Mickey and Friends in seasonal gear, this restaurant is a fun one to book for the Christmas season. At Tusker House you can see Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom.

Things to do at Disney World for Christmas

Whispering Canyon Cafe, Fort Wilderness Lodge, Walt Disney World

Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort

Whispering Canyon Cafe is located in the cozy Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort which is often considered one of the best resorts to visit at Walt Disney World during Christmas. Not only are they located in a cozy, festive environment, but the shenanigans of their staff are sure to remind you of that nutty relative we see only at Christmas. Whispering Canyon Cafe serves hearty, family-style skillets that are all you care to enjoy. This is another meal we like to take advantage of during cooler months. And if you’re there at the right time, one of the best legacy Christmas Trees at Disney Resorts is here. Be sure to stop by and grab pics!  We also love that Whispering Canyon Cafe gives you the perfect excuse to leave the Parks and slow down a little bit. See the Whispering Canyon Cafe Menu here.
