A Night Out At Disney’s Ale And Compass Lounge

A Night Out At Disney’s Ale And Compass Lounge

We’re always on the lookout for great places to eat at Walt Disney World. We adore a themed atmosphere, fancy drinks, unique appetizers and a restaurant that is budget-friendly. So, on a recent stay at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, we decided to head to Ale and Compass Lounge for snacks and drinks while we waited for our delivery pizza to arrive. It had been a long day and we were in need of a lounge experience and we were not disappointed! Check out everything you need to know about Disney’s Ale and Compass Lounge at the Yacht Club. Drinks, Food and Cost.

Ale and Compass Lounge Atmosphere

As fans of the Ale and Compass Restaurant it should come as no surprise that we would also love the Ale and Compass Lounge. The atmosphere here is elegant, but subtle. Done in dark blues and a maritime feel that matches Disney’s Yacht Club Resort vibe, we could settle in and pretend we were in the Hamptons, without a beat. Leather sofas, booths, and bar tables were strewn not only across the lounge section, but also in the hidden bar behind the fireplace. Serving everything you could get from a full bar, this lounge is beautiful and practical. We were able to simply head in, sit down, and be served. It felt luxurious and easy. What more could you want?

Ale and Compass Lounge Menu – Drinks

The Menu at Ale and Compass Lounge includes a variety of classic bar drinks, alongside signature specialty cocktails, and appetizers. Here are a few of our favorite drinks we’ve had at the lounge so far, and some signature drinks to try.

Hudson Mule

I tend to love simple drinks, with just a few ingredients, so Mules are always at the top of my list. And this Hudson Mule was fantastic. Perfectly balanced, I could have had several, probably without knowing what hit me. It combines Hudson Baby Bourbon, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, and Fever-Tree Ginger Beer.

Just Peachy

Another favorite of ours is Aperol. Absolutely love it. So, when we saw that this peach drink combined blood orange and Aperol, well, it’s like all our favorite things. And completely perfect. A little sweet, a little fresh. This drink includes Cîroc Peach Vodka, Aperol, Peychaud’s Bitters, Peach, and Blood Orange.

Spicy Pomegranate Margarita

A favorite signature drink is the Spicey Pomegranate Margarita. Similar to what you find at the Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge, this one includes El Mayor Blanco Tequila, Ancho Reyes Chile Liqueur, Pomegranate Juice, Simple Syrup, and fresh Lime Juice.

Purple Mariner

A luxurious drink with creme de violette, this one is perfect for sipping. It’s very good, and bit sweet. Not necessarily great to have alongside food, but we love it for a fancy drink. It  includes Hendrick’s Gin, Crème de Violette, Simple Syrup, and Fresh Lemon Juice topped with Soda Water.

How Dare You

A bit minty, this bittersweet cocktail is great if you’re looking for an apertif. Inspired by Italian opera singer Maria Callas, this is a strong Italian spirit, much like Strega and other herb based digestives. Includes Brancamenta Liqueur, Lemon Juice, and Simple Syrup topped with Tonic Water.

The Big Apple

Consider this drink the bigger, slightly jaded, sister of the Apple Martini. Including Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Crisp Apple Purée, and Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth, The Big Apple is smooth, and heavy, and warming.

Pineapple Mule

If you’re looking for tropical drinks in New England, this is it. The Pineapple Mule is heavy on the whiskey, and we love the addition of the pineapple ginger flavor. Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Whiskey, Hella Cocktail Co. Ginger Bitters, Pineapple Juice, Ginger Beer, and Mint.

Strawberry Hibiscus No-Jito

If you’re looking for a really wonderful non alcoholic drink, this No-Jito combines fun and fresh berry flavors, with lime. Making this a fruity, and fun, but no overly frilly drink. Flavors of Strawberry and Hibiscus, Lime Juice, and Mint topped with Soda Water. Only $6, it was delicious! Definitely a new favorite.

Mocktails at Ale and Compass Lounge

If you’re looking for a non-alcoholic zero proof drink at Disney, then this lounge has a couple on the menu. And as a full bar can easily make other virgin drinks, like a virgin margarita or a Shirley Temple.

  • No-Kick Mule: Ginger Beer with Simple Syrup and Lime Juice
  • Agave Garden: Lyre’s Agave Reserva Spirit, Cold-pressed Lime Juice, Passionfruit Papaya Green Tea, and Cucumber
  • Pink London Spritzer: Lyre’s Pink London Spirit, Grapefruit Soda, Pomegranate Green Tea, Lime and Mint

Ale and Compass Lounge Menu – Food

The food at Ale and Compass Lounge can also be found at the restaurant. specialties here include the flatbreads, roasted buffalo style cauliflower and parker house rolls. The Flatbreads are decadent! Done up on a fired sourdough crust, the flatbreads come in either chipotle barbecued chicken or seasonal vegetables. We’ve had both, and they’re so good, and shareable between two people. True to the New England coastal vibe, you can also get garlic shrimp and blue crab bisque here. Burgers are also available if you’re looking for something more substantial. Just like most Lounges at Walt Disney World, the food is varied, but always worth a look.

Ale and  Compass Lounge Cost

Cocktails at Ale and Compass Lounge range from about $15- $18 each, which is typical across Disney World. Mocktails cost between $6-$12 each. And the appetizers cost between $10-$23. As always it depends on what you get, but we thought these were decent prices for great drinks and food. Service was fantastic, and the atmosphere exactly what we were looking for.
