Kid-Friendly Drinks at Walt Disney World to help you Beat the Heat

Kid-Friendly Drinks at Walt Disney World to help you Beat the Heat

Looking for Drinks at Walt Disney World for Kids? If you’re like most people, you will be visiting Walt Disney World when it’s hot. Even as we write this post in January, the high today is 85. Which isn’t terrible, but factor in humidity, and who knows how hot it will feel. Fast forward to the spring and especially summer and you’re looking at sweltering heat. Walt Disney had at one point planned for a temperature-controlled dome for Walt Disney World, which would have definitely helped! But for now, if you’re looking for a cold, sippable treat to help keep you cool, here are some of our favorites! This is our kid-friendly version, so these are all good choices if you have little ones.

When it comes to drinks at Walt Disney World, they come in all shapes and sizes. Disney Mocktails, Non-Alcoholic Drinks, Alcoholic Drinks, Zero-Proof Drinks at Disney, and Disney Slushies are all in the lineup. And it can all be kind of confusing. So, if you’re looking for Kid-Friendly Drinks at Walt Disney World for Kids in the parks or resorts keep it easy and just order the non-alcoholic options.

Note that Mocktails and Zero Proof Cocktails at Disney may still have a 0.5% ABV (Alcohol By Volume) component and you may not be able to order one for your child. This recently happened to us when we wanted to order the Agave Garden Mocktail on the Tambu Lounge Menu. As it’s made with Lyres, it has 0.5% alcohol and we were unable to get it for our 18-year-old. We chat more about this in our Mocktails at Disney World post.

Drinks at Walt Disney World for Kids

Kid-friendly, non-alcoholic drinks at Walt Disney World are not necessarily hard to find, but where do you even start to look? Thankfully, after a visit to one terribly hot summer in Florida, we decided to pull together our favorite kid-approved drinks. Perfect for both kids and adults. From Disney Slushies to Disney Zero-Proof Mocktails, here’s our lineup of favorite non-alcoholic drinks at Disney World.

The American Dream  | EPCOT World Showcase

Found in Epcot, in you guessed it, America, at Fife and Drum to be exact. We stumbled upon this delicious concoction a few years ago when we were in search of root beer floats. And instead, we found this little beauty. Blue Raspberry and Cherry Icee swirled with vanilla soft serve. A perfect hot day drink.

Tea and Lemonade Slushy at Golden Oak Outpost Magic Kingdom

Tea and Lemonade Slushy | Golden Oak Outpost Magic Kingdom

Available as a Sweet Tea Slush, Lemonade slush, or our favorite Tea and Lemon slush, this icy cool drink is sweet and tart! It completely hits the spot on a hot day if you’re hoping for a little less sugar. And since sometimes finding slushies at Walt Disney World is tough, this one was a treat. Right across the midway from Pecos Bill, near the Pirates Adventures of the Seven Seas Game, this little drink and snack kiosk, also has shaded seating! SHADED seating! A great place to stop and take a break from the heat. Perfect for kids and grown-ups alike!

Ronto Wraps at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge

Tattooine Sunset | Hollywood Studios

By far the best drinks at Hollywood Studios, the Tattooine Sunset can be found at Ronto Roasters alongside some of the best food at Hollywood Studios. Gold Peak Unsweetened Tea and  Premium Lemonade with Melon and Blueberry are mixed to create this refreshing drink. Great for kids and grown-ups.

Moof Juice | Hollywood Studios

Found at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, Moof juice has a bit of a kick courtesy of jalapeno, but we think adults and older kids will love it. It combines Fruit Punch, Orange with Pineapple, and Chipotle-Pineapple for a special drink you can’t get anywhere else.

Frozen Chai | Animal Kingdom

Animal Kingdom usually gets lost in the jumble of “best” lists, but Frozen Chai? Yumm! This one is made by the folks at Joffrey’s Coffee Co. and can be found right across from Kali River Rapids at Royal Anandapur Tea Company. It is made with tea, so does have some caffeine but not enough to keep it off our kid-friendly drinks at Walt Disney World list.

Frozen Flamingo | Animal Kingdom

Probably one of our top favorites on the list, this treat can be found at Harambe Market in Animal Kingdom. Frozen Strawberry and Passionfruit make this delicious and refreshing without being too sweet.  For an added touch, get it in the Ocarina souvenir cup, complete with music sheets. So fun!

Conga | Choza de Margarita Mexico EPCOT

This fancy non-alcoholic drink at EPCOT Choza de Margarita mixes a Mexican fruit punch, with orange, pineapple, and lemon juice for a super refreshing drink you can sip as you stroll the World Showcase. So yummy, and perfect for hot days.

Frozen Jungle Juice | Select Resorts

Whether you call this Jungle Juice or POG, if you’ve never tried it, it needs to go on your Walt Disney World bucket list. We love it so much, we’ve even done copycat POG popsicles!  A mix of Passionfruit, Orange and Guava, the juice itself can be found at Ohana, which is where we originally tried it.  But you can also find this at Kona Cafe, both restaurants at the Polynesian Village Resort.  Jungle Juice can be found frozen at The Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge and it comes with lunch on the Wild Africa Trek.

Lemonade Slush | Magic Kingdom

Scattered throughout Walt Disney World, this can be found in both the lemon, strawberry, and raspberry flavors. Found at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, it’s a staple in Magic Kingdom.

Goofy’s Glaciers | Magic Kingdom

We love these Disney Slushy Drinks! Found at the Big Top Souvenirs Treat counter in Fantasyland, this slushy is perfect for hot days at Disney. And if you’re up for a little adventure, ask them to mix flavors to customize this Glacier to your preference.

Dole Whip Float Magic Kingdom Snacks

Dole Whip Float | Magic Kingdom

Seriously, how can you talk about Walt Disney World without mentioning a dole whip? The Dole Whip Float can be found at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom and at the Polynesian Resort’s Pineapple Lanai. By far one of our favorite drinks at Walt Disney World, this dole whip float takes it up a notch by adding pineapple juice. We love the extra vitamin C to help ward off sunburn.

nomad lounge at animal kingdom

Zingiber Fizzie | Animal Kingdom

If you’re looking to get out of the heat, head to Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom on the pathway to Pandora. Here you can find this drink with passion fruit puree, ginger beer, mint, and lime. Very refreshing!

gastons tavern magic kingdom

LeFou’s Brew | Magic Kingdom

LeFou’s Brew has quite a following. Once considered the “Butterbeer” of Magic Kingdom, this is an apple cinnamon, gingery, cider drink. Found at Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland, this frozen drink is topped with a Passionfruit froth to give it that “brew” look. With so many flavors, you can be the judge if this drink is up your alley. We thought it was a little too sweet, but on a hot day, we’ll take what we can get!

pongu pongu night blossom drink at pandora

Night Blossom | Animal Kingdom

The Night Blossom can be found in Pandora at Pongu Pongu. A little sour, a little sweet and is perfect for hot sunny days. Word of caution- while this is very delicious, you may want to consider sharing it. Its sweetness can become a little much on a sweltering hot day. And you can request it without the boba balls too, in case tapioca isn’t your thing .

Frozen Mint Julep Lemonade | Magic Kingdom

Found at Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom this slushy drink is pretty sweet with a touch of mint. Great if you’re passing through the crowds and need something cool to sip. And we always love the Mickey straw to add a little extra Disney and another free souvenir to our collection. If you’re in a hurry, you can mobile order this drink alongside a quick bite to keep from standing in those lines!

Wonderland Slushy | Magic Kingdom

Found at the Cheshire Café in Magic Kingdom, this new drink may be one of our favorites! Layered Fanta Grape Slushy and Minute Maid Raspberry Lemonade topped off with a candy-coated straw.  This drink is as pretty as it is delicious. Not too sweet and not too tart, this slushy is refreshing and perfect for hot days.

Bottomless Milkshake | Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

Found at Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, these Bottomless Milkshakes will run you $8.50, but are All-You-Care-To-Enjoy. They are served in a mason jar and are delicious. Available in Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla or Caramel, these are great to share.

Tropical Paradise Mocktail Disney

The Peachcomber | Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Found at Banana Cabana at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, one of our favorite Disney Resorts, we highly recommend you visit for a sip of this refreshing drink. It’s a fruit blend of Orange, Peach, and Lemon, made fizzy with a bit of soda water. Soooo yummy! And it made our Best Mocktails at Disney World list too.

Trader Sam's Tiki Terrace at Disney's Polynesian Resort

Skipper Sipper | Disney’s Polynesian Resort

Surprizingly complex, this drink at Trader Sams’s Grog Grotto, can just be ordered outside the walkup counter near the pool at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. Including Tropical Juices, Organic Agave Nectar, Falernum, Mint, and fresh Lime Juice topped with Soda Water

Polynesian Punch | Disney’s Polynesian Resort

Another favorite Kid’s Drink at Trader Sams, this drink combines Sam’s Gorilla Grog and Hibiscus Grenadine. A nonalcoholic refreshing drink to sip at the beach or pool.

Schweitzer Falls | Disney’s Polynesian Resort

The Tropical Juices in this drink are part of Sam’s Gorilla Grog, which is technically just POG, passion fruit, orange, and guava. Always delicious, this drink is topped with Sprite.

Frozen Hot Cocoa | Blizzard Beach

Found at Lottawatta Lodge in Blizzard Beach, this pairs great with a side of mini donuts. If you haven’t heard, mini donuts are all the rage and can be found right across from the Lodge in a little snack booth. Perfect with the theme of the Blizzard Beach, this was definitely a treat in the hot Florida sun.

Disney Special Drinks TIPS

  • Even if you’re only grabbing one sweet drink, we still recommend LOTS of water as a general rule. It’s one of our top 10 tips.
  • Fill your water bottle full with ice cubes before you leave for the day so as it melts, you will have ice cold water until you need a refill.
  • Many of these kid-friendly summer drinks are available with snack credits on the Disney Dining Plan, just look for the DDP notation next to it on the menu.
  • Don’t forget to check out Starbucks for light teas and lemonades too. Many can all be used as a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

What drinks have we missed? What are your favorite cold drinks to enjoy while at Walt Disney World?
