Fall Brunch Board Recipes and Ideas

We’ve said it before and we will say it again; we love brunch. We can’t help it, we just do. We’ve talked about some of our favorite brunch spots at Walt Disney World before and while few places can do brunch like Disney, we love a challenge! Since fall is here and in Ohio that means winter is fast approaching, we knew we needed any reason to have brunch out on the patio before the weather got too cold. Plus fall is our favorite season and we often find any reason we can to hold onto its glory. Combine our favorite meal with our favorite season and we just can’t help ourselves. So we decided to create our very own Fall Brunch board, perfect for brunch on a crisp fall morning.

How to make a Fall Brunch Board

Food boards are really popular these days and we are here for it.  From Charcuterie boards to taco boards, it’s easy to see why they’re a fan favorite. Not only are they fun to dream up and assemble, but they offer a great variety for people to choose from.

The fun thing about food boards is that they can really be made up of just about anything!

We usually like to include sweet and savory elements as well as a variety of colors.  And if you know us, we always love a theme! For this Brunch Board, we chose to stick with some of our favorite fall flavors.

The sky is really the limit here though, so use your imagination and be creative. We’ve made cookie boards , dessert boards, hot cocoa trays and dinner boards; use your imagination and see where it takes you!

What do you need to make a fall brunch board?

Choose your Board

Well for starters, you need a board! You don’t really have to get fancy with what kind of board you want to use, although some stores have really elaborate charcuterie boards. We’ve always found fun cutting boards work perfectly fine and you can even mix things up with a variety of boards and trays, which is usually what we do.  We love looking at places like Target, World Market, and TJMaxx.

Choose your Menu

Then you need to decide what kind of food you want to make for it. As I said, we usually go for a theme and try to mix in sweet and savory if it’s not specifically a sweet or savory board. Even though many people start decorating for Christmas right after Halloween, we love enjoying the fall season as long as Ohio weather allows us to. And of course, eat all the fall foods! So for us, this was the perfect opportunity for something that could be enjoyed all fall long and even as a Thanksgiving morning treat.

We love mixing in colors, textures, and flavors to keep it fun and interesting and of course, aesthetically pleasing.  Since this is a fall brunch board, we knew we wanted a fun mix of fall and classic flavors.

Disney Inspired Fall Brunch Board

Now that you have your board and your menu for the board, it’s easy to add a bit of Disney magic!

We used a few of our favorite Disney kitchen tools, most notably our Mickey Waffle maker. This waffle maker has really been a great tool for us and we have used it in so many recipes, both on the blog and just at home. It makes the loveliest Mickey waffles that will really make you feel like you’ve just eaten on Walt Disney World property.

For our brunch board, we made our Pumpkin Spice Mickey Waffles again as the centerpiece of course; they’re not only delicious, but add some serious cuteness to this fall food board.

We also brought out our Mickey Ramekins for miniature pies and our Mickey cheeseboard to add some Disney magic; but if you don’t have those things, you could easily use a Mickey cookie cutter, Mickey ice cube tray or even create your own hidden mickeys with the goodies on your board!

If you’re looking for inspiration for a theme that’s a little less Mickey but just as much Disney, we love Entertaining With Disney for all kinds of inspiration! There are so many great ideas in that book and we love browsing through it when we are looking for fun ideas.

Sweet Fall Brunch Board Foods

There are really so many possibilities when it comes to sweet brunch foods.  Try out a French Toast Bake, cinnamon rolls or our favorite as I mentioned previously, pumpkin waffles. We created these waffles last year after a trip to New Hampshire and I find myself making them all the time now. They’re just so good with maple butter and warm syrup. Yummmm. And it gives us an excuse for Mickey waffles so it’s really kind of perfect.

We decided to add a bit of sweetness to the fruits. White Chocolate Covered Strawberries decorated like ghosts and little oranges dressed up like pumpkins were our go-to here and we love how they turned out!

We also created a pumpkin pie pop tart, similar to the Mickey pop tarts we created for Valentine’s Day a couple of years ago. All you need is some pie crust, fun cookie cutters, pumpkin, and a few spices and you can make these.  They’re so easy that even little ones can help with this treat; and you can really make any combination of flavors you like here.

Since it’s fall, you gotta have pie right? We think yes. So we created little individual pies in our Mickey Ramekins . You can easily make these with store-bought crust and whatever filling you want. We love creating fun little designs with our pies, and we used these pie cutters for the cutest little fall edges.

If you still need some inspiration, browse Pinterest  for your favorite Instagrammers and bloggers. We also love digging in with some of the best Fall recipes from across our favorite brands, because everyone needs the Original Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe. Grab it on this Best Fall Recipes list!

For our Fall Brunch Sweet Foods we made:

  • Pumpkin Mickey Waffles
  • Pumpkin Pie Poptarts
  • Mini Fall Pies
  • White chocolate covered strawberries
  • Orange pumpkins
  • Apples and caramel sauce

Savory Fall Brunch Board Foods

I feel like sometimes savory foods are a little more difficult to incorporate into brunch unless you’re doing something fancy like an omelet bar or quiche or frittata. Since we really wanted to keep it simple and to things that could be made ahead if needed, we chose not to take the egg route; but you could definitely add in something like that (in your Mickey ramekins of course!) to boost your savory elements in this brunch board.

We decided to keep it simple and classic with cheese and crackers! I feel like you kind of can’t go wrong it; I mean it’s cheese, so that alone is a plus. We try to get a few varieties so there’s something everyone will like. To make it a little more festive, just use cookie cutters to make fun fall shapes! Feel free to make it more charcuterie-style with various meats and whatever else you like. Get creative and have fun with it!

We also found this super cute cheese ball recipe that looks like a pumpkin and decided to get in on that fun. It was so easy to make and just so yummy.  And honestly, it added the right amount of cuteness that we knew we needed. It’s super easy to make ahead too, which is great for these kinds of boards.

For our fall brunch board, we also added just a touch of spooky, so we made mummy jalapeno poppers, which are always a favorite at our pumpkin carving that we usually have with our family.  They’re so good and add just a little bit of a kick to your brunch.

For our Fall Brunch Board foods we made:

  • Jalapeno Poppers
  • Cheese and Crackers
  • Pumpkin shaped cheese ball
  • Fried tortillas cut into shapes

Fall Brunch Drinks

The weather has definitely been dipping into cool fall temps here lately so we chose to keep it cozy with our Cinderella Pumpkin chai. And because it’s brunch, we wanted to add a little bit of fun with Apple Cider Mimosas. Feel free to make your mimosas kid friendly with ginger beer or even just Sprite.   Add equal parts Cider and Soda and voila, super easy and delicious! Add in some fancy little glasses and enjoy!

If you’re in need of some serious caffeine, we think the  Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is also a great choice to pair alongside this brunch board.  This was one of our go-to drinks on the Disney Wonder. It’s not too sweet and perfect for fall mornings, especially if you’re not a pumpkin spice everything type.

We hope this Fall Brunch Board inspires you to be creative with our favorite meal this season, whether you’re making it for yourself or having a small get-together. Get creative, make your favorite foods, and enjoy the things that bring you joy!
