Celebrating Halfway to Halloween at Disney 2024

It may be spring, but that doesn’t mean we can’t all start looking forward to a bit more spooky and bit more spice, pumpkin spice that is! Every year, Disney parks celebrate Halfway to Halloween with celebrations on socials, watch parties, new Halloween snacks in the parks and more. Disney shares the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Dates, and all the new things we can expect in the fall. And every year we hop on the Halloween bandwagon sharing some of our favorite Disney Halloween outfits from the shop, and ideas to honor our second favorite time of year, Halloween. Take a break from your springtime plans for a few days to welcome the spooky season and enjoy the best of what Halloween has to offer! New snacks, specials, and announcements are all part of #halfwaytohalloween!

Halfway to Halloween at Walt Disney World

Tune in on @DisneyParks channels for all things Halloween! In the middle of spring! Halfway to Halloween includes new snacks, and reasons to get ready for the spooky season. Celebrated at Disney Parks you can find new Halfway to Halloween Snacks, Disney announcements, and more as we honor spooky favorites, like the Sanderson sisters and Haunted Mansion. 

When is Halfway to Halloween at Disney World?

Halfway to Halloween at Disney Parks runs May 6-10, 2024. #HalfwaytoHalloween at Disney Parks typically happens at the “halfway” to Halloween point, typically late April or early May. However, given other things that may be competing for Disney’s marketing space (like Star Wars Season of the Force for May the 4th Be With You), it arrived the second week in May this year. 

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party 2024 |Select Nights August 9 to October 31, 2024

The biggest reason to celebrate Halfway to Halloween is the promise of dates for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Offered annually, this is the Best special event at Disney World and everyone knows it! Held on select nights from August through October, this Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park takes over the evening from 7pm- 12am. Offerings include special Halloween ride overlays, specialty Halloween snacks, the Boo to You Parade, special Halloween Fireworks, hosted by Jack Skellington himself, and a trick or treat trail. Not to mention loads of characters in their Halloween costumes you won’t see any other time of year. Our best advice? Aim for a Weekday Evening. This party gets crowded on the weekend dates. This year’s separately ticketed event will kick off Aug. 9 and will take place on select nights through Oct. 31 at Disney World. Tickets go on sale for guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green on May 8. For all other guests, tickets will go on sale May 15.

To purchase tickets, visit Disneyworld.com/Halloween or call the Disney Reservation Center at 407-934-7639. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can save $10 per ticket to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party—valid only for event nights in August and September.

• New Costumes for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, featuring webby fun in purples and greens. 
• More Disney Villains in the Park! Roaming the streets of Magic Kingdom, you can see Maleficent, Cruella, Jafar and more! You may even be able to grab photos, as these villains come out to play. 
• DescenDANCE Party: Head to the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland for a Descendants Rave! Inspired by Descendants Rise of Red, this dance party will be happening all night! 
• Meet Bruno Madrigal from Encanto: Catch the elusive Bruno in this new meet and greet for Halloween at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. You can find him and Mirabel in the Casita in Fairytale Garden. 
• Mickey’s Boo to You Parade Starts at 8:15 PM! Perfect for families with small children, this new earlier start time for the Boo to you Parade means a whole lot more boo to you and you, before the kids start nodding off. 

Halfway to Halloween Snacks at Disney World

In addition to the specialty flavors at Gideons Bakehouse at Disney Springs, Halfway to Halloween brings even more spooky to this creepy cute bakery! Plan to wait in line at the Disney Springs location ( but not too long) to get your hands on the spookiest, and tastes treats. A cookie, coffee and specialty cake slice for Halfway to Halloween are offered for a limited time only! So, if you’re in Orlando, be sure to grab them! 

Halfway to Halloween Week at Disneyland Resort

Halloween at Disneyland is always so much fun! And offers things you simply cannot find at Disney World. The Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion Halloween Overlay is a must see. And with things like the Headless Horseman statue in the park, and the Halloween Pumpkin Parade down Main Street, there’s a lot to look forward to! Oogie Boogie Party dates begin August 25, 2024. Also during Halloween time at Disneyland, you can see the larger than life rice krispie treat display in the Disney Grand Californian Lobby. If you’re in the parks for Halfway to Halloween, you can get a sneak peak of some of the new Halloween Snacks in the parks too. 

Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney’s California Adventure | Select Nights August 25- October 31, 2024

Featuring Oogie Boogie at his best, the Oogie Boogie Bash runs select nights starting August 25, 2024. Admission to this After Hours Party includes admission to Disney’s California Adventure and unlimited Disney PhotoPass downloads. Halfway to Halloween on Disney Cruise Line

Nothing is more fun than a Halloween on the High Seas Cruise with Disney. Offered on several ships, if you’re sailing on the Disney Wish, you even get the story of Boo the Halloween Tree as part of the fun! But, really, all the ships offer specialty snacks, characters in Halloween costumes, special Halloween movie viewings, and more! A Halloween costume parade, and themed Disney trivia, games, activities and more all add to the reasons why you should consider a Disney Cruise for Halloween. Sailing during the fall months you can catch a Halloween Cruise with Disney to a variety of places, including the Caribbean.  Mickey and Minnie get new costumes as bats, and Donald Duck takes the stages as a spider. Only seen on Disney Cruise Halloween on the High Seas sailings.

Celebrating Halloween in the middle spring doesn’t mean you have to wait for the best Halloween merch to arrive. Because the Disney Halloween Shop is always open! And Halfway to Halloween means a sneak peek at all the special Halloween Merchandise for 2024 coming to the parks, and Disney Store online. Our Disney Haunted Mansion Halloween Costume Ideas, were perfect for the hot Florida weather, and made it easy to be festive while still managing all the walking, rides and long party hours. Or if you’re heading to the parks with friends or as a small family of three, there is nothing as fun as finding Disney Halloween Costumes For Three People. From the Ducktales, to Emperors New Groove and the Three Good Fairies, there are plenty of Disney Trio costumes to try out. Of course, one of our favorites, and most simple Disney Trio costume, was when we went as Pooh, Piglet and Eeyore. While you can pick any three characters, we found breezy t-shirt dresses to make Disney Halloween Costumes as Winnie the Pooh and Friends easy.

Disney Parks Blog is sharing even more ways you can get ready for Halloween early at home! Here are our favorite ways to tackle some Halloween projects for those times you want to just stay indoors crafting. Check out our Haunted Mansion Halloween Wreath DIY and Mickey Ghost Felt Pillow you can make now. Potion bottles, ancient books, and glasses and jars, along with mismatched candlesticks can really set a mood!
