The best part about using Harry Potter decor for Halloween is that it’s already kind of spooky and magical anyway. So even though some of these things are only available seasonally, it’s easy to find most of these pieces all year round. We think decorating for fall with a Harry Potter theme just makes sense due to the colors and moodiness of the aesthetic. So whip up some butterbeer, put on a Harry Potter movie and get into the fall spirit.

The easiest place to find Harry Potter Halloween decor is Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Teen. But both of those places tend to be quite pricey, so we recommend checking other options like Target, Home Depot, Amazon, and even Etsy. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite items for the season. Hopefully this can help you find something that fits your budget and style! The best thing about decorating with a theme like Harry Potter is that you don’t really need licensed merch! Choose an Owl that looks like Hedwig or a plant that looks like a mandrake. It’s up to you! Get creative!
Harry Potter Halloween decor for outside
Pottery Barn really has some of the best Harry Potter merchandise. Whether you need stuff for inside or outside, they always have the coolest stuff. This year they’ve brought back their very popular lit Dementor which is sure to have passersby a little wary. Or if you’re more of an Aragog fan, you can find him at Pottery Barn this year too.
Or if you’re more of an inflatable kind of decorator, Home Depot has a cute little Harry Potter holding a pumpkin. We also love these owl solar lights from Amazon that perfectly replicate Hedwig.
Harry Potter Halloween and Fall Decor for inside
Decorating for Harry Potter is an easy task for fall because you can make it as easy or complex as you like! Want floating candles? Pottery Barn has them! But you can also find a very budget friendly set on Amazon as well. We also love artwork from The Poster Store, which has all kinds of photography prints. Some of their prints are perfectly moody for fall and they usually have some pretty good deals! Etsy is also a great place to look for prints, and artwork is always such an easy thing to change out from season to season. We also love using books in our decor. So find your favorite cover and conjure up something dreamy for this fall.
Pottery Barn Teen also has fun things like flying keys lights and cute accent pieces like the Womping Willow in a cloche. You can also find fun accent pieces from places like Target and Etsy as well. Since most Harry Potter stuff is the same color palettes as fall, but not actually fall, you even reuse it in other seasons!
Harry Potter Fall Decor for the kitchen
Who doesn’t love a good baking session in the fall? So why not bring a little bit of that Harry Potter magic into your kitchen? There’s a lot you can do to add a touch of magic to your kitchen this fall. Simple decorations like dried orange slices are always very Molly Weasley. Not only are they inexpensive, but they’re super easy to make and just take a little time. Sure, they’re probably a little more Christmas/winter aesthetic, but we think with the right supporting decor, they work for fall.
We love using this Owl utensil holder as a Hedwig lookalike. It can be used to house Harry Potter wooden spoons, or whatever utensils you like. And I’ve even used it as a vase for dried florals to match the season. This teacup from Target isn’t inherently fall, but the colors are perfect for the autumnal season and would be super cute displayed in your kitchen. We always love using mugs as decor so that they can be dual purpose, so feel free to play around with ideas like that!
And if you really want to go all out, Instant Pot makes a pretty cool Harry Potter design, that could be used for the main attraction in your kitchen.
