Looking for a fun Disney Drink Recipe? We’ve got one that is mischievous and fun. Our inspiration? Loki, of course. If you haven’t seen Marvel’s Loki on Disney+, we recommend you start that right now. Following one of the best characters from the MCU, Loki dives deep into the realm of variants, pruning the timeline and the role of the TVA. Watch out for Miss Minutes…because while she might look harmless, her connections to Kang the Conqueror give pause. Anyway, we digress, if you love a good theme like we do, then settle in and make this Loki Drink Recipe for the show!
Loki on Disney+
Loki features our favorite god of mischief, played by none other than Tom Hiddleston of course. This 2- season series on Disney+ Plus explores everything you need to know about the TVA, the strands of time itself, and Loki’s Glorious Purpose. While this series is complete at 2 seasons, we can always find a reason or two to honor Loki’s chaos. So we decided to create a Disney Drink Recipe Mocktail, which can easily be changed to a cocktail, perfect for nights when we watch this show together. We love a bit of Disney Magic at home, especially when it’s as simple as this.
Loki Drink Recipe
As Disney Drink Recipes go, they’re always fun to whip up and theme to favorite Disney characters. We love this drink because it’s super simple and like Loki, has an element of surprise. And you can make it non alcoholic for the kiddos(or yourself of course) or bump up the bubbly with champagne. All you’ll need is gold sugar, orange juice, champagne or ginger beer(or sprite works too) and blue curacao syrup. We recommend using lots of ice for this as it will help with the final effects. A taller glass will give you more of the layering effect as well, so if you have something taller and skinnier, use that. We have this stemless champagne glass from CB2 and it was perfect.
Ingredients
- 2 parts Orange Juice
- 1 parts ginger beer or champagne if you want it to be alcoholic
- 1/2-1 oz blue curacao syrup
- Ice
- Gold sugar for rim
Instructions
- Sugar rim of glass
- Add lots of ice
- Pour in 2 parts orange juice
- Add 1 Part ginger beer or champagne if you prefer alcohol
- VERY QUICKLY, pour blue curacao syrup into glass
- Syrup will take a few moments to sink
- Enjoy!
Sugar the Rim and Add Orange Juice & Ice
To make this, sugar the rim of the glass you want to use. Fill the glass with ice and add your orange juice. We used a ratio of 2:1 of orange juice to ginger beer, but you can adjust this to taste. Be sure to add enough ice to fill about 2/3 of the glass, this helps with the layering effect!
Add the Blue Curacao
The last step, which is adding the blue curacao syrup, is the most critical part to get the effect that makes this stand out. Add approximately 1 ounce blue curacao syrup to the glass, FAST. Pouring it very quickly is the key to getting it to sink and create the layering effect that resembles Loki. If you don’t pour it very quickly, it will end up being a little more teal than green and gold. And again, lots of ice helps with the layering, as well as having a taller, skinnier glass. When done correctly, the blue syrup should fall to the bottom within a few moments, creating green at the bottom and slowly fading into orange.
Sip and Enjoy!
The Loki series is one of our favorites and we think this drink represents Loki perfectly with his green and gold attire and a dash of mischief. We love this one as a special drink to make for Disney Dads, as it’s delicious and still fun enough to share with the kids.
