Loki Inspired Marvel Mocktail Disney Drink Recipe

Loki Inspired Marvel Mocktail Disney Drink Recipe

If you’re not already watching Loki on Disney+, we recommend you start that right now.  With just a couple of episodes, we’ve already been introduced to new characters and ideas that will surely advance with us into MCU phase 4. And if you love a good theme like we do, then you’ll want to add this Loki inspired mocktail to your Wednesday lineup.

Loki on Disney+

Loki releases every Wednesday on Disney+. And features our favorite god of mischief, played by none other than Tom Hiddleston of course.  This series is exploring a lot and we can’t wait to see where it takes the MCU. So we decided to create a mocktail, which can easily be changed to a cocktail, perfect for nights when we watch this show together.  We love a bit of Disney Magic at home, especially when it’s as simple as this.

We love this drink because it’s super simple and like Loki, has an element of surprise. And you can make it non alcoholic for the kiddos(or yourself of course) or bump up the bubbly with champagne. All you’ll need is gold sugar, orange juice, champagne or ginger beer(or sprite works too) and blue curacao syrup.  We recommend using lots of ice for this as it will help with the final effects.  A taller glass will give you more of the layering effect as well, so if you have something taller and skinnier, use that. We have this stemless champagne glass from CB2 and it was perfect.

To make this, sugar the rim of the glass you want to use. Fill the glass with ice and add your orange juice. We used a ratio of 2:1 of orange juice to ginger beer, but you can adjust this to taste. The last step, which is adding the blue curacao syrup, is the most critical part to get the effect that makes this stand out. Add approximately 1 ounce blue curacao syrup to the glass, FAST. Pouring it very quickly is the key to getting it to sink and create the layering effect that resembles Loki. If you don’t pour it very quickly, it will end up being a little more teal than green and gold. And again, lots of ice helps with the layering, as well as having a taller, skinnier glass.  When done correctly, the blue syrup should fall to the bottom within a few moments, creating green at the bottom and slowly fading into orange.

We think this drink represents Loki perfectly with his green and gold attire and a dash of mischief.
