This means Airbnb, vacation rentals, and standard hotels. If you’re a Marriott Bonvoy member, you’re likely aware of their perks and loyalty program. And if you’re like most of us, you want to know how to make the most of those Marriot Bonvoy rewards so why not use it for your Disney Vacation? Today we are talking all about the Marriott Bonvoy hotels near Walt Disney World so that you can earn or use a free night at Disney World, next time you stay.

Staying off property at Walt Disney World 

While there is something truly magical about staying on property at Walt Disney World, it is no secret that it’s generally more expensive. At one time, there were plenty of perks to justify the cost.  But over the years, things have changed. If you’re looking for convenience and want to stay in the Disney bubble, then staying on the Walt Disney World property is still the best option for you. Whether you’re just finding hotels near Disney Springs, or want Orlando Hotels Near Disney World, there are plenty of options to choose, across all budgets.  

We love Disney, but we also understand that not everyone wants “Disney” every second of their day on vacation, and that’s ok too.  So if you’re looking for the best deal, or maybe just want to get out of the Disney bubble, or if you want to earn and redeem loyalty points while traveling, staying offsite may be the right choice for you.  

There are a lot of options for staying off-property at Walt Disney World. With a wide selection of Airbnb, Good Neighbor Hotels, and hotels in the surrounding areas, there is no shortage of accommodations when it comes to visiting Walt Disney World.  And contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t have to break the bank. 

Can Staying Off-Property at Walt Disney World save you money?

Yes, you absolutely can save money by staying off-property at Walt Disney World! Not only are many of these Marriott Bonvoy hotels near Walt Disney World more affordable, but some of them even offer things you can’t get at a traditional Walt Disney World hotel for the same price. Perks like free breakfast, fitness centers, and even more luxurious pools and onsite activities can add a lot of value to your stay, without the extra cost. What’s more, some of these hotels also offer the fifth night free. So not only will you be getting a better deal, but if you have a longer trip, this can really save you a good amount of money.

Booking the Swan and Dolphin with Points

One of the biggest perks of choosing one of the three Walt Disney World Marriott Bonvoy Hotels for your next stay is that you also get the Disney PERKS! This includes resort stays at the Disney Dolphin Hotel, Swan Hotel or the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve. It also means that even if you book with your Marriott Bonvoy Free Night Certificate that you can still get access to Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Hours, and 7 AM access to Disney Genie+ and individual Lightning Lane Purchases. 

How Many Marriott Bonvoy Points Does it Cost to Stay at Walt Disney World?

Marriott Bonvoy uses a dynamic points system, meaning that the cost of points will depend on when you visit. As such if you’re visiting during busy times like Spring Break or Christmas, the costs will be higher. Typically, the Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve range from 40,000- 70,000 points a night. And if you’re hoping to earn your Fifth Night Free, then plan to spend between 168,000 to 264,000 points for a four night + fifth night free stay. 

Are the Swan and Dolphin Hotels a Good Use of Marriott Bonvoy Points?

That depends! The Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve are an excellent use of points, if you already planned on staying at Disney World. However, if you have another popular destination in your travel plans, using your Marriott point elsewhere may be a better bet. For point reference, generally Marriott points are worth .07 cents a point, but can go up to more than 2 cents per point at other destinations. 

Using your Marriott Bonvoy Free Night Certificate at Disney World

If you’re a Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card Holder, then you are probably well versed in the never-ending hunt to find a hotel in a location that you actually want to stay in that accepts your Free Night Certificate.

Can I use my Marriott Bonvoy Free Night Certificate at Walt Disney World?

Any of the hotels in this list that are 35,000 points or less will give you a free night, close to Walt Disney World! Many Category 4 or less hotels will usually accept your certificate.  This can depend a lot on availability and the time of year, but it never hurts to check if you’re hoping to use those free nights in Orlando.

Marriott Bonvoy Hotels Close to Walt Disney World 

Marriott Bonvoy is one of our favorite hotel loyalty programs and you can find so many of them on hotels.com.  Not only do they have great hotels near Walt Disney World and Disneyland, but they also have amazing hotels all around the world.  And if you use their loyalty program a lot, you could easily score a free hotel stay on Walt Disney World property.  If you’re a Marriott Bonvoy credit card holder, you can even use your Free Night Certificate on some of these hotels. 

Walt Disney World has three Marriott Bonvoy hotels that are actually on Walt Disney World Property. While they’re definitely not the most budget-friendly hotels, they are Marriott Bonvoy hotels with all of the Walt Disney World perks. We’ve stayed at all three and love these hotels.  But we also know that certain times of the year can bring unbearable prices or little to no availability. 

So if it’s not in the budget for you, never fear. If you’re willing to Uber or drive to the Parks every day, you can easily find a hotel close to the Parks that are a little easier on your wallet.

Walt Disney World Swan 

The Walt Disney World Swan is a Westin hotel, located right in Walt Disney World’s Boardwalk area.  The Walt Disney World Swan is actually one of three Marriott hotels that are considered Walt Disney World hotels, offering packages and perks, but being managed by Marriott. Its sister hotels, the Walt Disney World Dolphin and the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve are located in close proximity to one another and to Epcot.  The Walt Disney World Swan is about a 10-15 minute walk to Epcot and 20-25 minute walk to Hollywood Studios. Complimentary transportation is available to all of the Walt Disney World Parks as well.

Walt Disney World Dolphin

The Walt Disney World Dolphin is a Sheraton hotel. It is larger in size than either of its sister hotels and is often slightly cheaper. Walt Disney World Swan Reserve

The Walt Disney World Swan Reserve is the newest hotel to join this group. It is considered an Autograph Collection hotel and is the most upscale and priciest of the three. The Swan Reserve is slightly farther from the Parks than the other two hotels.  It also shares the same amenities as its sister hotels, making it easy to access the fitness center or spa. TownePlace Suites at Flamingo Crossings

Flamingo Crossings is a fairly newer area at Walt Disney World. Mostly known for its location as part of Disney College Program housing, this area has recently seen some growth including some conveniences like Target and Starbucks. If you’re not dedicated to staying on Walt Disney World property, this area is close, convenient, and has a few Marriott Bonvoy options.  This hotel tends to have slightly larger rooms than those you’d find on Walt Disney World property and also offers free breakfast each morning. And room rates are less than the average Value Resort at Walt Disney World, making this a great place to stay if you’re on a budget. TownePlace Suites at Flamingo Crossings is a Category 4 hotel, so if you want to book with points, plan to spend between 20,000-30,000 points per night. Find Deals on Towneplace Suites at Flamingo Crossings here

Springhill Suites Orlando at Flamingo Crossings

Springhill Suites is another Marriott Bonvoy hotel in the Flamingo Crossings area.  Their spacious suites offer microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffee makers, and select suites offer views of Disney fireworks.  They also offer a complimentary breakfast and inexpensive nightly rates, so if you’re on a budget, we recommend checking this one out. Springhill Suites is a Category 4 hotel, requiring 20,000-30,000 points per night. Also, Since Springhill Suites is a full-service, family-friendly Walt Disney World Partner Hotel, it  provides convenient access to all Disney Parks, Disney Springs and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. Castle Hotel

Another Autograph Collection Hotel in the Orlando area, the Castle Hotel is a modern boutique hotel for those looking for a more intimate setting. With a whimsical atmosphere and decor, this hotel is a lovely retreat after a long day in the Parks.  Castle Hotel offers a lounge and a cafe, a buffet breakfast at an additional cost, an onsite fitness center, and an outdoor pool. 

Castle Hotel is a mid-priced hotel with prices that are generally in line with Walt Disney World’s higher Value Resort and lower Moderate Resort prices. And is often considered one of the better deals in the area. Castle Hotel is a Category 4 hotel, which requires 20,000-30,000 points per night. Find Deals on Castle Hotel here

JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa

JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa is located in the Bonnet Creek area, near Disney Springs.  This resort offers guests modern luxury with a spa, resort pool, restaurants, and bars. They also offer a shuttle to take you to any of the Walt Disney World Parks and Disney Springs.  JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort and Spa is home to a rooftop terrace with nightly views of the Disney fireworks. 

You can find more information about this hotel here.  Rooms here generally do fill up quickly, and prices are a little on the higher end, but this is a great option if you want to stay slightly outside of the Disney bubble, or if you’re having a difficult time finding something available on property for the time you’d like to travel.  JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek is a Category 6 hotel, which requires 40,000-60,000 per night. 

Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center 

Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center is an upscale destination for those looking for a more luxurious stay while on their vacation to Walt Disney World. This resort boasts Cypress Springs Water Park and Crystal  River Rapids, perfect for families looking for entertainment.  Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center is really a destination all itself! With a state-of-the-art fitness center, a world-class spa, restaurants, bars, and even indoor garden atriums, it might be difficult to pull yourself away. At Christmastime, they also host an interactive event with lights, displays, and even Santa Clause himself. Gaylord Palms Resort is a Category 5 hotel, requiring 30,000-40,000 points per night. Find Deals on Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center here

Delta Hotels Orlando Lake Buena Vista

Delta Hotels Orlando Lake Buena Vista is a Good Neighbor Hotel located in Disney Springs. It is the closest non-Disney hotel to Walt Disney World Resort.  They offer free scheduled transportation to and from Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.  You can generally find a good deal on this hotel, and it’s usually less than most Value options at Walt Disney World.

Orlando World Center Marriott

Orlando World Center Marriott is situated just 1.5 miles from Walt Disney World.  With their all-new River Falls Water Park, this hotel is more than just a place to stay. Not only does Orlando World Center Marriott have a water park, zero-entry lagoon-style pool, splash pad, waterslides, and cabanas, but they also have their very own 18-hole onsite golf course.  Orlando World Center Marriott offers newer rooms as well as family-friendly suites, so if you need more living space, this is a good choice. Orlando World Center Marriott is a Category 5 hotel, which requires 30,000-40,000 points per night.  Find Deals on Orlando World Center Marriott here
