Watch Disney’s Boo To You Parade
Shown twice during the party, we love love love this parade. It is by far one of the most important Disney Halloween Party Must Dos. We. LOVE. IT. The Boo to You Parade music starts our spooky season, but there is nothing like seeing this parade in person.
The Boo to You Parade happens ONLY at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom. It’s offered twice during the party at 8:15 pm and 11:15 pm. This past year we camped out right in front of the castle to get the best views and see the Headless Horseman up close. It’s always a treat when the Headless Horseman rides because sometimes he doesn’t! If it’s raining, lightning, or even if the horse doesn’t feel like it, he may not lead the parade at all.
Need the Disney Halloween Parade lyrics? We have those. Need Disney Boo to You Parade tips? We have those too. From where to sit, to how long you should save your seat ahead of time, we cover it all in our Boo to You Parade Lyrics and Details post. We usually watch this parade at both showings, one earlier and one later just to get the full effect, and photos, of the whole experience.
Disney Pro Tip: If you’re looking for an easy to get spot for the parade with fewer crowds, we recommend heading to Main Street. The 11:15 PM parade has fewer crowds, and more seats. Sitting right in front of the train station is best. It’s never crowded, and it offers great views of the parade. As the characters turn the corner at Tony’s, the are literally coming straight towards you!

See the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
Another must-do at Mickey’s Halloween Party is the Hocus Pocus Show! Complete with Disney Villains, the Sanderson Sisters themselves, add a bunch of Hocus Pocus to familiar songs on the Cinderella Castle Stage. And we’ll be honest, you’ll be humming these songs all night long! Shown 3, or 4 times throughout the night, this show is easy to see, but we recommend planning ahead if you want the best views. Times vary depending on the month you visit. In August and September, the show is generally 9:05 PM, 10:35 PM, and 12:00 AM. In October: 7:35 PM, 9:05 PM, 10:35 PM, and 12:00 AM.
Disney Pro Tip: There are a lot of performers on stage for this one, so the closer you are to the front of Cinderella’s Castle, the better. If you camp out for the fireworks show, you will catch a showing of this while you wait. The Sanderson sisters are joined by other Disney villains including Oogie Boogie, Maleficent, Hades, Dr. Facilier and more, all up to no good, but so much fun to watch. The latest Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular at midnight has the lowest crowds.
Watch the Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Halloween Fireworks Show
Another tradition in the lineup of Disney Halloween Party Must dos is 360-degree fireworks show, Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular Fireworks Show. Complete with Mickey and Friends in a haunted house. We usually try to score a place right in front of the castle. But since it is a 360 show, any spot is going to be a good one! We also got to see this show by chance from California Grill and it was stunning from afar as well. Absolutely one of our favorite parts of any Disney trip is the chance to see fireworks… and this is truly one of the best! Fireworks Showtime is 10:00 pm.
Disney Pro Tip: This digital projection show is hosted by Jack Skellington himself, the closer you are to the stage the better. However, people wait like an hour in advance to save their spot. And truthfully, it still won’t prevent some guy from putting his kid on his shoulders, right in front of you. So, do your best with picking a good spot, and be aware of the people around you for your best chance.

Listen to the Cadaver Dans in Frontierland
The Dapper Dans get all dressed up for Halloween and serve up music and “deadpan” humor. You can find them during the party over in Frontierland. Complete with deadpan humor this quartet sings familiar songs of the season. They typically appear on the balconies above the walkway from Adventureland to Frontierland, and sing throughout the evening. Be sure to catch a song or two as you make your way around the park.
Disney Pro Tip: Check the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Map, and the My Disney Experience App for times, so you don’t miss them.

Eat the Exclusive Halloween Party Snacks
You know we couldn’t have this post of Disney Halloween Party Must Dos without the food. Because Disney Halloween Snacks are some of the best! From candy corn to caramel, pumpkin to apple, every fall flavor usually makes a showing here. As expected, we round up the new Disney Halloween Party treats, and start planning our snacks well ahead of time.
Know that some Halloween Snacks at Walt Disney World are “only” available as a party exclusive. While other Halloween snacks can be found across the parks throughout the fall. Either way, you can get your fill of all things spicy, sweet, and spooky for the season at this party. Disney Pro Tip: Be sure to grab at least one or two of the Exclusive MNSSHP specialty treats, because you won’t be able to get them anywhere else.
Visit the Haunted Mansion for Happy Haunts
A few of the rides during the party have special overlays that include Halloween fun! And while the Haunted Mansion ride itself doesn’t add anything spookier than it already is, the cast gets extra haunted, and the ghosts come out to play! You’ll get to see the amazing Madame Carlotta sitting right outside the mansion, engaging with guests. She tells stories, and jokes and is such a fun addition to the experience at the party! We always make sure to see her in action every time we attend the party.
Disney Pro Tip: Madame Carlotta has been in several locations the last years. Sometimes she’s right on the HM lawn, so she can be seen right when you enter. Other times, she’s hidden in the graveyard near the entrance to the mansion, tucked away so you won’t get to see her until you’re at the front of the line. Regardless, Carlotta is always there! And if she’s on the lawn by the horseless hearse, be sure to hang out after you ride as well for more stories, jokes and a ghostly time.
Trick or Treat on the Candy Trail
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party includes a trick or treat trail that weaves throughout the park. Generally with about 15 Trick or Treat Stops at MNSSHP you can count on getting handfuls of candy everywhere you turn! The key is, you don’t really need to follow a path! You can simply head to your favorite rides, and grab candy along the way. This allows you to really enjoy the party for everything it has to offer, and less like a giant candy-collecting to do list.
Disney Pro Tip: Take the Trick or Treat Bag they give you at the entrance. But don’t make it your priority. While fun for a while consider that you have to lug the candy around the entire party. You’ll have to bring it on rides, and eventually eat it during the rest of your trip. While you can definitely stash the extra in a suitcase for the travel back home, who has that much room in your suitcase? This is most important to remember if you book the Halloween Party later in your trip. As it will give you less time to get through the candy!

Shop the Special Mickey’s Halloween Party Merchandise
Exclusive merchandise for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is sometimes tough to find on resale, so we aim to get it from the source! If you’re heading to the party, be sure to check out the new merch! the designs are different every year and it’s such a fun way to commemorate the experience. In addition to the basic Halloween tees and ears available throughout the fall, the party guests get access to special tees, mugs, and pins only available at the party. Check out the Disney Halloween Merchandise Roundup for all the new collections this year!
Disney Pro Tip: Head to the Gift Shops right before you leave! There’s no sense taking party time to explore very crowded gift shops. Simply plan to grab your MNSSHP merchandise just before the party is over.

Meet Disney Characters in Halloween Costumes
One of the best parts about attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is seeing favorite Disney characters all dressed up! Winnie the Pooh and Friends always have the best costumes and certain characters, like Jack and Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas, can’t be seen anywhere else! And Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party now includes Bruno Madrigal as a Meet and Greet, who you can’t find anywhere, ’cause we don’t talk about him.
Disney Pro Tip: Lines for characters during the party are LONG so it’s best to visit the most in-demand characters first. Guests can get in line as early as 4pm, but character lines do become lower during parade times and around 11 pm when the park starts to empty. Choose wisely and be sure to dress up and follow Disney’s costume guidelines.
Prioritize the Special Halloween Rides
In addition to all the fun throughout the park, some rides at Magic Kingdom get dressed up for Halloween too. On Space Mountain, you can hear a Halloween soundtrack as they race through the cosmos. Haunted Mansion also gets dressed up for the party with Madame Carlotta and spookier, web-covered hosts. Mad Tea Party also get refreshed with Halloween fun and music!
Disney Pro Tip: To make the most of your time and reach all the rides during the party, turn left at the castle and start in Adventureland. Most everyone else will turn right, leaving that side of the park a little emptier when the party starts.
