Disney Animal Kingdom Photo Ops Harambe Market

If you’re looking for Disney Animal Kingdom Photo Ops look no further than Harambe Market. It has some lovely Instagram-worthy photo op locations. And while you will find many throughout the park, this is a great place to hang out while waiting for your Pandora Lightning Lane Pass. Or if you’re just looking for something a little wilder to spruce up your camera roll. Here are a few of our favorite places to be found in Harambe Market, Africa.

Disney Animal Kingdom Photo Ops

Ready for a photo-filled day in Animal Kingdom’s Harambe Market? Just a stroll over the bridge into Africa and you are often met with amazing African music and a party happening in the midway. Turning left you can head to the Festival of the Lion King, one of our favorite shows, or Tusker House to meet up with Mickey and Donald in their safari gear. If you walk straight through the crowds you find yourself at the Wild Africa Trek check-in and at the Kilamanjaro Safari entrance.

But, if you turn right you’ll see a path that will lead you back toward Asia. It’s on this path that you will find the Harambe Market. We love the Harambe Market Area. Apart from being able to get the frozen flamingo slushy over here at the Wanjohi Refreshments snack window, you can also get away from the crowds.

Fichwa! Fellow Mickey Wall in Animal Kingdom

The Fichwa! Fellow Wall is a Favorite and while not hard to find people are always “looking” for it! Did you know that Fichwa means “Hidden” in Swahili? So here he is, our first ” Hidden” Mickey in Animal Kingdom. Be sure to grab a snap when you’re next near this wall. Be forewarned though, or favorite African Drummers have an entrance here… so if you hang around too long at this location be ready to dance and play drums.

Right across the way from the Fichwa Mickey Wall is a slew of interesting things that make great props for your photo backdrop. We like the yellow bike and the heavy well-come wooden door. This is also a great spot to just stop and take a break! By the time you reach this area of Animal Kingdom, you would have already gone through the Oasis area and possibly even Pandora.

You can also just sit here and listen to the music of the Buridika Band in the midway. This door is right on the other side of the gift shop courtyard area and is a great place to open those Disney snacks you got at the gift shop or our favorite Zebra cupcake. This is also the area where you’ll see the Karibu Sisters and the Harmabe Village Acrobats.

You are Most Beautiful Wall at Animal Kingdom

This area of Africa in Animal Kingdom has so many lovely resting spots, but this area alone could meet all your photography needs. In Harambe market if you go in far enough past all the food windows you can see the ” You are most beautiful” Wall. It’s actually back in the Disney Cast Members entrance and exit alcove, but they are used to the photo traffic:) So go on in. It’s part of our Disney Walls of Instagram post if you’re keeping track of all the walls at Walt Disney World.

Yellow Motorcycle in Harambe Market

Before leaving this area be sure to stop at the Yellow Motorcycle. Apart from being a fun photo, you have the nice opportunity to be in a little shade and can usually get decent lighting courtesy of the umbrellas.

We Renew Broken Hearts Wall

We love this wall. Located inside the Harambe Market where you eat. See if you can find it! It’s hidden by the picnic tables under the eating pavilion. Frankly, you can say so many things with this photo! And another area in softer lighting so take advantage of it!

Notice the Details for the Best Disney Animal Kingdom Photo Ops

Scattered throughout this entire area, there are lots of fun places for fun photo ops, you just have to pay attention! No matter your Animal Kingdom plans, be sure to stop at this quiet secluded part of Africa before heading over to Asia. It may often look like nothing is happening here, but don’t let that deter you from wandering in. There is always something going on. 🙂
