Animal Kingdom has some lovely Instagram-worthy photo op locations throughout the park, so if you’re there waiting for your Pandora fast passes or just looking for something a little more wild to spruce up your camera roll. Here are a few of our favorite places.
If you stroll over the bridge into Africa you are often met with amazing African music and a party happening in the midway. Turning left you can head to the Festival of the Lion King, one of our favorite shows, or Tusker House to meet up with Mickey and Donald in their safari gear.
If you walk straight through the crowds you find yourself at the Wild Africa Trek check in and at the Kilamanjaro Safari entrance. But if you turn right you’ll see a path that will lead you back towards Asia. It’s on this path that you will find the Harambe Market.
We love the Harambe Market Area. Apart from being able to get the frozen flamingo slushy over here at the Wanjohi Refreshments snack window, you can also get away from the crowds.
1. Fichwal! Fellow Mickey Wall
The Fichwal Fellow Wall is a Favorite and while not hard to find people are always “looking” for it!
Did you know that Fichwa means “Hidden” in Swahili?
So here he is, our first ” Hidden” Mickey in Animal Kingdom.
Be sure to grab a snap when you’re next near this wall.
Be forewarned though, or favorite African Drummers have an entrance here… so if you hang around too long at this location be ready to dance and play drums.
2. Fruit Carts in Harambe Market
Right across the way from the Fichwall Mickey Wall is a slew of interesting things that make great props for your photo back drop. We like the yellow bike and the heavy well-come wooden door.
This is also a great spot to just stop and take a break! By the time you reach this area of Animal Kingdom you would have already gone through the Oasis area and possibly even Pandora.
You can also just sit here and listen to the music of the Buridika Band in the midway. This door is right on the other side of the gift shop courtyard area and a great place to open those snacks you got at the giftshop, or our favorite Zebra cupcake.
This is also the area where you’ll see the Karibu Sisters and the Harmabe Village Acrobats.
3. You are Most Beautiful Wall at Animal Kingdom
This area of Africa in Animal Kingdom has so many lovely resting spots, but this area alone could meet all your photography needs. In Harambe market if you go in far enough past all the food windows you can see the ” You are most beautiful” Wall.
It’s actually back in the Disney Cast Members entrance and exit alcove, but they are used to the photo traffic:) So go on in.
4. Yellow Motorcycle in Harambe Market
Before leaving this area be sure to stop at the Yellow Motorcycle. Apart from being a fun photo, you have the nice opportunity to be in a little shade and can usually get decent lighting courtesy of the umbrellas.
5.Notice the Details for the best Photo Opps
Scattered throughout this entire area, there are lots of fun places for fun photo opps, you just have to pay attention! This is one of our faves, and is located inside the Harambe Market where you eat. See if you can find it!
No matter your Animal Kingdom plans, be sure to stop at this quiet secluded part of Africa before heading over to Asia. It may often look like nothing is happening here, but don’t let that deter you from wandering in. There is always something going on. 🙂
