If there’s one thing we don’t love at Walt Disney World, it’s waiting in line. You wait in line for rides, for the restrooms, and you’ll even wait in line for that ideal photo spot. So when Walt Disney World announced Mobile Order, we were thrilled that there was now one less thing we would have to wait in line for.
One thing we’ve noticed, though is that a lot of people just aren’t using mobile order. Maybe it sounds too good to be true? Maybe it sounds like voodoo magic? Or maybe its because they just don’t know how it works….
You guys love our quick and dirty guides, so here’s our quick and dirty guide to mobile order!
What is Mobile Order at Walt Disney World?
It’s basically what it is implies. You order your food via Mobile. When it’s ready, voila, you get to skip the line and have a hot meal ready for you. It’s kind of like a Fastpass for food.
How Does Mobile Order work?
Mobile Order is only available at quick service (counter service) restaurants(no snack carts or sit down restaurants) and it’s only available at certain quick serve restaurants, so not all restaurants will offer it.
You can just check the My Disney Experience app, hot “Order Food” and it will show which restaurants have it available.
Follow the prompts on the screen, adding whatever items you want, choose your payment method and checkout!
Here is the part where we see most people get confused. Once you check out, that does NOT mean that your food is ready. You have to hit the “I’m ready to pick up my food” tab.
And guess what, it’s at that point that they actually start making your food. So no need to press that tab when you are already there- you will end up waiting at the pick up window.
It will usually take 5-10 minutes for them to get your order ready. Press the button as you’re leaving a ride or on your way to the restaurant and when you get there, it will be ready!
It will actually tell you when its ready too, so there’s no guesswork! Super simple, right?! Now get out there, save yourself some time and mobile order 🙂
