Scat Cat’s Club Lounge at Disney French Quarter Resort

Scat Cat’s Club Lounge at Disney French Quarter Resort

Walt Disney World is filled with lounges, perfect for Disney Adults, featuring cocktails, small plates, and even non-alcoholic specialty drinks. Typically found at Disney Moderate and Deluxe Resorts, we were happy to see that Disney’s Port Orlean’s French Quarter Resort had a lounge. But don’t be fooled! This Disney Lounge is not like the others! Complete with live jazz music, a list of kid-friendly mocktails, and an adjacent cafe, meant more options for an evening out. Perfect for Disney families and grown-ups alike. Here’s everything to know about the Scat Cat’s Club Lounge at Disney’s French Quarter Resort.

French Quarter Disney Resort

Disney’s French Quarter Resort is one-half of the Port Orleans Resorts at Walt Disney World. The other is Port Orleans Riverside Resort. While both resorts come with their own theme and flavors, it’s Port Orlean’s French Quarter Resort that embodies the feeling of Mardi Gras, home-cooked beignets, and Jazz music found in New Orlean’s French Quarter. This resort features quaint neighborhoods with brick-lined streets. With townhome facades and ironwork balconies. There is also a central square containing the main desk, Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory, a Gift Shop, and Scat Cat’s Club Lounge and Cafe.

How to Get to Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort

If you’ve never visited Disney French Quarter Resort, now is the time! This smaller resort offers up impeccable theming, and special experiences you can’t get at any other resort. Accessible via Disney Bus, Boat, or Walking Path, here are all the ways you can get to Disney’s French Quarter Resort.

  • Bus: If you’re visiting Walt Disney World Theme Parks, there are buses that take you to the Disney Port Orleans Resorts. As such, you can take the opportunity for Disney Resort Hopping on any of your park days, and just grab a bus here. If traveling from another resort, you will have to get creative by going to a park or Disney Springs first in order to catch a resort bus.
  • Boat: Both Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside are accessible by Boat. There are boats that travel from Disney Springs to these resorts. Meaning you can park, or get off another Disney Bus at Disney Springs, then make your way to the boat ramp to these resorts. And if you’re staying at Port Orleans Riverside Resort you can just grab the boat to the French Quarter Resort.
  • Walking Path: Also accessible by walking from Disney Spring, or Port Orleans Riverside, Disney’s French Quarter Resort has a vast sidewalk system that wraps the river. One of the prettiest walks to take, the walk from the French Quarter to Port Orleans is about 5 minutes. And the walk from Disney Springs to French Quarter is about 20 minutes.

If hoping to get a drink, enjoy music, and have a fun night out then Scat Cat’s Club Lounge at Disney is a great choice. We were astounded by how sophisticated and fun this experience was at a Disney Moderate Resort. Impressed by the drinks, the mocktail selection, the service, and the entertainment we definitely think it’s worth the effort to get here.

Scat Cat’s Club Lounge at Disney has a variety of classic drinks. With a full bar, you can expect to request any favorite cocktail or spirit here, and get it. In classic Disney Lounge style, plan to budget between 12- 17 dollars a drink. There are several Signature Specialty Cocktails on the Menu that are worth the mention.

  • Sazerac: Knob Creek Rye Whiskey, Agave Nectar, and Peychaud’s Bitters with a splash of Pernod
  • Syncopation Shift: Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Bayou Silver Rum, Cruzan Mango Rum, and Midori Melon Liqueur with Pineapple Juice and a souvenir Glow Cube. Served in a Souvenir Cup at 18.00

  • Bonfamilies Bourbon Peach Tea: Woodford Reserve Bourbon and Bols Peach Schnapps with Fresh-brewed Sweet Tea.

If you’re looking for something fun here, go with the Southern Hurricane. We also got the Bourbon Peach Tea, but the drink was mostly bourbon, and we couldn’t really taste the peach or tea in this.

Disney Mocktails at Scat Cat's Lounge

Scat Cat’s Club Lounge Non-Alcoholic Drinks

We’ve been on a search for Disney Mocktails for a while now. Perfect not only for kids but also for Disney Adults watching their alcohol intake. And while Disney World has been slow in adding non-alcoholic beverages at Disney Lounges, we were thrilled to find a nice lineup here! What we liked best about these is that they were more than the simple lemonade, or ice cream float, dubbed non-alcoholic drinks. Here are the Disney Mocktails at Scat Cat’s Club Lounge.

Pomegranate Lemonade. This drink is Minute Maid® Premium Lemonade with Pomegranate and Lime Juices. A fresh option if you’re looking for something sweet with a bit of a kick.

Agave Garden: Featuring Lyre’s Agave Reserva Spirit, Cold-pressed Lime Juice, Passionfruit Papaya Green Tea, and Cucumber. An absolute show stopper, we loved this drink. The sweetness from the agave and juices perked up the tea and cucumber and really brought out some complex flavors. Kids may not like this one as much as the lemonade options, but Disney adults definitely will.

Pink London Spritzer: Featuring Lyre’s Pink London Spirit, Grapefruit Soda, Pomegranate Green Tea, Lime, and Mint. This drink was very good. If you like the tartness of grapefruit and a little fizz, then you’ll love this. We couldn’t really taste the tea here, but it was such a nice combination of flavors.

Watermelon Lemonade: Another Scat Cat’s Club Lounge at Disney mocktail that kids will love is this elevated lemonade. Combining Minute Maid® Premium Lemonade and Watermelon, this drink was sweet and light.

Beignets at Disney World Scat Cat's Lounge

Scat Cat’s Club Lounge Food

The food at Scat Cat’s Club Lounge at Disney comes in all types! Since Disney’s French Quarter Resort doesn’t have a main table service restaurant, like other Disney Moderate Resorts, you can grab a variety of themed meals specific to New Orleans.

Loaded Potato Puffs, Bayou wings, and Scat Cat’s Beignets are favorites. Other appetizers at Scat Cat’s Club include Mardi Gras Fritters, Sliders, and an Oyster Beignet Po’Boy.

Beignets

The main attraction at both the lounge and cafe is the Beignets. Freshly made and fried, these little pillows of sweet dough can be used in a variety of dishes. At Scat Cat’s Club Lounge, you can get them in different dips, both savory and sweet. And even with specialty liqueurs.

If you’re having a later evening out and want something simple, you can even order plain beignets, in sets of 3 or 6 with raspberry, caramel, and chocolate sauces. These aren’t on the menu but can be ordered, and the server will have the adjacent cafe make them special. Check out the entire Scat Cat’s Club Lounge Menu to see what strikes your fancy.

Another perk of staying at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Resort is the Cafe! With options for a variety of beignets, you can stop here throughout the day to eat to your heart’s delight. While there really isn’t much on the coffee front here, you can still count on coffee, cafe au lait, and espresso. And if you’re a fan, you can even get Joffrey’s Chicory Coffee.

Mickey Shaped Beignets are the main dish on the Scat Cat’s Club Cafe Menu. With specialty beignets priced from 3.99, and others ranging all the way up to 12 dollars, there is plenty to try. If you’re looking for a sweet treat, an easy breakfast, or just a taste of New Orleans, here’s the lineup of beignets at Scat Cat’s Club Cafe.

  • Mickey Shaped Beignets in sets of 3 or 6
  • Specialty Beignets: These are typically seasonal. Mint chocolate for St. Patrick’s Day, Pumpkin spice for fall, Gingerbread for the holidays, etc. Check out our New Snacks at Walt Disney World post for when these new flavors arrive.
  • Baton Rouge Beignets: Two-Beignets jazzed up with your choice of Baileys Irish Cream Liqueur, Kahlúa Liqueur, or RumChata Liqueur (Contains Alcohol)
  • Mickey Shaped Beignets Sundae: Served with a choice of Ice Cream and Sauce topped with Whipped Cream
  • Beignets Dipping Sauces: You get a choice of one dipping sauce when you order beignets; Salted Caramel, Strawberry, or Chicory Chocolate Ganache. Each is delicious, so we highly recommend just getting them all.

Scat Cat’s Club Lounge at Disney

Hopefully, this post has been helpful! We were so impressed by Scat Cat’s Club Lounge that we’re sure to be back on a future visit. With great live music, appetizers, drinks, mocktails, and beignets, it’s more than we expected. Especially, since it’s all at a Disney Moderate Resort. We stayed at the resort on this visit, and couldn’t be happier with our choice. As regular resort guests of all Disney Resort Levels, we couldn’t believe that you get so much here ( at the resort and the lounge experience) for a moderate price point. The whole experience is highly recommended!
