Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge opens at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios on August 29th. Complete with new rides, restaurants and shopping on the planet Batuu, guests can immerse themselves in all things Star Wars. But what about elsewhere in Hollywood Studios? If you’re thinking the fun stops at Galaxy’s Edge, think again! Here’s everything else across Hollywood Studios perfect for the Star Wars fan.
Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple
Perfect for younger fans of Star Wars, this interactive on-stage experience is for children ages 4-12. Watch as children learn how to use the Force, wield light sabers and get an inside look at all the secrets of being a Jedi. Their final trial is to take down a Star Wars villain and sometimes even Darth Vader himself! Participants are awarded a chance to participate on a first-come, first-serve basis, so head to the training stage, near Star Tours, to sign up.
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue
This simulation ride puts you inside a Star Tours Starspeeder 1000, driven by C-3P0. Prepare for an unforgettable launch, a spy hiding on board, and bumpy landings across the galaxy. Riders can cruise through 25+ different story lines and Star Wars Star Tours experiences, so there is no telling which planet, or experience you’ll have when you ride. One of Hollywood Studios most popular rides, Star Tours also has one of the best line queue experiences. However, we still recommend a fast pass for this attraction if you can get it as it’s bound to have longer waits even after Galaxy’s Edge opens.
After leaving the gift shop at the end of Star Tours, hang a left at the pathway to Muppet’s Courtyard and you’ll see the Tatooine Wall. One of Disney’s many Instagram-famous walls, be sure to stop by and snap a photo.
Star Wars Launch Bay
Consider the Star Wars Launch Bay as your one-stop for character meet and greets, a glimpse at movie replicas, merchandise, and more! Located outside of Galaxy’s Edge near the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Star Wars Launch Bay includes meet and greets with BB8 and Chewbacca as well as run ins with Storm troopers and Jawas. And if you’re brave enough, you can plan to meet Darth Vader himself here as well, starting Aug 29th.
Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away
Found on Center Stage right in front of the Chinese Theater you can get a glimpse of favorite Star Wars characters like Rey, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and Kylo Ren. All set to the backdrop of the Star Wars stories, you’ll see film clips from your favorite Star Wars episodes in this 18-minute show, shown a few times throughout the day.
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular
And to complete your Star Wars day, be sure to head to the Chinese theater to watch Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. This show features lasers, lights, digital projection and fireworks. Set to your favorite Star Wars music, this show happens 15 minutes before the park closes, but check the times guide for details.
Star Wars Experiences at Hollywood Studios
There you have it. While Star Wars may be getting it’s very own 14-acre land inside Hollywood Studios, the Star Wars saga is alive and well all over the park. Be sure to take in all the experiences on your next visit, and may the Force be with you!
