The Boathouse at Disney Springs Restaurant Review

The Boathouse is a casual yet upscale waterfront dining location in Disney Springs. Consistently known as one of the best restaurants in the Orlando area for seafood, cocktails, and desserts and we are here to tell you all about it! Read on for our full review of The Boathouse in Disney Springs.

The Boathouse in Disney Springs

The Boathouse is a waterfront dining experience, with an Oyster Bar, seafood, steak, and more. Located in Disney Springs, this tends to be one of the most popular restaurants at Walt Disney World outside of the Parks. The Boathouse has a relaxed atmosphere, with a nautical theme throughout. Some tables are even boats! This restaurant can even be considered its own destination in a way. A small shop is attached, with plenty of “touristy” souvenir-type items. Add in the Amphicar Water rides, and The Boathouse could easily give you something to do for a good few hours.

The Boathouse also houses the largest collection of Dream Boats from the 30s, 40s, and 50s. Boat lovers will love being able to see these Floating Works of Art, as they’re called.

The Boathouse Menu

The menu at The Boathouse is pretty vast. They have salads, a wide variety of seafood including shrimp and lobster, burgers, steaks, desserts, and lots of drinks. We are huge fans of the Truffle Fries. They also have a full kid’s menu. And an impressive list of alcoholic beverages including craft beers, wines, plenty of signature cocktails, and even After Dinner Dessert drinks.  Saturdays and Sundays they serve brunch from 10 am-12. You can see the full menu for The Boathouse here

Do you need reservations for The Boathouse in Disney Springs?

Yes and no. If you want a guaranteed seat at The Boathouse without a wait, then reservations are highly recommended. They do have walk-up seating available, but during busier times like Spring Break, or on the weekends, those walk-up spots fill up quickly and you can expect a bit of a wait for a table.

One thing that many people don’t realize about making reservations at The Boathouse is that you’ll generally have better luck making the reservation directly on their website, rather than Disney’s site. As long as your party is less than 6 people, this is an option we highly recommend you take advantage of.  The Boathouse only portions out a small number of reservations to be made on Disney’s website, and the rest are saved for the website. So many times, guests will see only a few late-night reservations available on Disney’s site. While The Boathouse website has many times available, and at times you’d actually want to eat. You can make reservations directly on The Boathouse website here

Amphicar Rides at The Boathouse

Take a ride around Lake Buena Vista in an Amphicar at The Boathouse! The Amphicar experience is definitely a unique one! These funny little cars seat 3-4 people, along with the driver of the vehicle, and they can go from land to water, just like that! A 25-minute captain-guided boat ride around the lake will cost you around $125. And if you eat at The Boathouse beforehand, you can save an extra $20.

The Boathouse Review

The Boathouse is one of the most popular Disney Springs restaurants for good reason. The ambiance is relaxed, the food is high quality, and the service is the same that you can expect from most Disney restaurants. Although there are many more items we’d like to try on this menu, everything we’ve had here has been good. If you’re a fan of fish tacos, those are pretty great, and we highly recommend them. The prices are reasonable, and depending on what you like, you can easily get a good meal for less than $30 here.

And while I’ve already mentioned how much we loved the Truffle fries, I have to say it again. Get the truffle fries! We recently discovered that Enchanted Rose has cut the portion size of their beloved truffle fries by more than half. And these are just as good, less expensive, and you get a whole lot more of them. They’re easily shareable, and they’re delicious.

Overall, we really enjoyed The Boathouse. Its popularity is well deserved, and we plan to eat here again when the opportunity arises. Perfect for a date night, a girls’ weekend at Walt Disney World, or if you’re looking for a delicious meal outside of the Parks.
