Universal Studios in Orlando is home to some pretty great resorts. And although they do offer transportation to the Parks, did you know that they also have a few resorts that are in walking distance? We are here to show you today the walking path from Loew’s Portofino Bay to Universal Studios!
The Walking Path from Portofino Bay to Universal Studios
Sometimes you don’t want to take resort transportation. Maybe you just don’t like it or in some cases, maybe you just can’t! Some forms of transportation, including boat transportation at Universal Studios and the Skyliner at Walt Disney World, don’t run when lightning is nearby. So sometimes you just have to find another way back to your resort!
We love walking paths for this reason. We’ve talked about our love for the walking path to Hollywood Studios before, and we stand by the opinion that sometimes it’s just better. The walking path from Portofino Bay to Universal Studios is a beautiful, paved path. It can take anywhere from 15-25 minutes depending on your walking speed. The path is lush, with beautiful greenery that takes you along the waterfront and passes by the Hard Rock Hotel. There is even a small butterfly garden that you can wander through!
How do you get to the walking path?
If you’re coming from Loew’s Portofino Bay, the path passes by the boat launch. Follow the pathway and continue on following the signs. It’s as easy as that!
If you’re coming from Universal Studios, the pathway is on the Universal Studios side near the water and there are signs to guide you.
Can you walk the path at night?
Yes, you can! The pathway is well lit and we saw many other guests walking the path at night.
When should I walk the pathway to Universal Studios?
You can access the walking path from Portofino Bay to Universal Studios anytime you want to take it instead of transportation! We especially like it for times when you don’t want to wait for transportation, like if you’re trying to get Early Park Admission for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
The ferry from this resort only takes about five minutes to get to Universal Studios and is very quick but sometimes the ferries are full or they may be slightly delayed at the launch at Universal Studios. There are also times when the ferries cannot operate. During storms or times when lightning is close by, ferries are not available and the walking path will be the fastest choice if you are able to manage it.
Is the walking path for resort guests of Portofino Bay only?
No! The resorts are open to everyone and anyone can to and from the resort to the Parks.
