Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of our favorite resorts at Walt Disney World. And it hosts some of the best restaurants on Walt Disney World property. So even if you’re not staying there, you might find yourself exploring this resort. And if you’re familiar with Walt Disney World resorts, sometimes transportation can get a bit tricky. Lucky for you, getting around Animal Kingdom Lodge is easy! Thanks to the walking path from Jambo House to Kidani Village, getting between the two buildings that make up this resort is simple. Let’s jump into how you can walk from Jambo House to Kidani Village, or vice versa.
Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort
As one of the best Disney Resorts on Walt Disney World property, Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great place to visit, even if you’re not staying there. Because, let’s face it, this Disney Deluxe Resort is pricey, and even though we absolutely loved staying at the Kilimanjaro Club Level that one time, it’s not something we can afford to do regularly. Luckily, you don’t have to be staying here to visit, which we do on almost every Disney trip we take. To level set, most of the resorts at Disney World have running trails on the property. However, Animal Kingdom Lodge does not. Thankfully, though, since many of their restaurants, shops and activities are spread between Kidani Village and Jambo House, they do have a path that goes between the buildings that make up the AKL property.
Even if you’re not staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, there are plenty of reasons you may want to visit it. Maybe you’re dining at one of their very popular restaurants: Boma or Sanaa. Maybe you’re resort hopping for a non-park ticket day. Or maybe you just want to take a break and watch the animals roam the grounds. We highly recommend one or all of the activities mentioned, as they are all a great way to spend time at Walt Disney World.
Kidani Village and Jambo House
The layout of Animal Kingdom Lodge can be a little confusing if you’ve never been there. Animal Kingdom Lodge is separated into two areas: Kidani Village and Jambo House. In fact, AKL even has a shuttle bus that runs between the two buildings of the resort. However, keep in mind that if you’re coming from the Disney Parks, or Disney Springs for a visit, that it’s the same Disney Bus for the entire resort, which means, you’ll need to know which building you want to get off at, once you arrive at the resort.
- Kidani Village has the Sanaa Restaurant, a gift shop, and quiet spaces for lounging. They also have a terrace for animal watching.
- Jambo House is the main house and includes Boma, the quick service restaurant The Mara, a gift shop, Kilimanjaro Club Level, Victoria Falls Lounge, and Jiko. Jambo House is also home to a legacy tree for Christmas at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
There is a bus that will bring you between the two, but busses can be crowded and sometimes you have to wait a while for them. So if you’re in a hurry, don’t want to deal with the busses, or maybe you just prefer walking, here is what you need to know about walking from Jambo House to Kidani Village.
Walking from Jambo House to Kidani Village
The walk from Jambo House to Kidani Village is super easy and will take about 10-15 minutes. The walking path is lush and pretty well shaded. And it’s a great amenity for guests of Animal Kingdom Lodge who are staying in one building and want to check out the other. But it’s open to all guests, so you don’t have to be a resort guest to take advantage of this walking path.
Where is the Walking Path from Kidani Village to Jambo House?
Getting to the walking path at Animal Kingdom Lodge is very easy! From Kidani Village you simply take the walking path right at the front of the resort and turn LEFT to go to Jambo House.
Or, if you’re at Jambo House, which is the larger of the two buildings at this resort, you turn RIGHT to go to Kidani Village. Normally, you’d go left for the busses, but if you turn right instead, you’ll see signage directing you to Kidani Village. Just follow the path! It’ll take you through a few parking lots, lush greenery, and eventually to a parking garage. In the parking garage, there is an elevator and then you’ve made it! It’s very easy, just follow the signs and you’re there.
Walking between Kidani Village to Jambo House
Whether you’re a guest at Animal Kingdom Lodge, just doing some Disney Resort Hopping, or enjoying Sanaa’s famous bread service, the walking path from Jambo House to Kidani Village makes it so much easier to get around! Take some time to explore the resort on your next visit. Last time we were here, we saw a Disney Resort Cat, mulling about in the greenery along the path. You never know what you’ll find!
