Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and Disney Cruise Line are temporarily closed amid growing concerns over the current worldwide health issues. This follows the closings of international Disney Parks around the world, which have been closed for weeks.

Update: Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom OPENS July 11, 2020 and Epcot and Hollywood Studios OPENS July 15, 2020. See this post for details. All Other Disney Parks and Cruise Line Remain Closed.

Select Disney Resorts Opening with Stipulations

Disney Vacation Club Resorts at Walt Disney World will re-open to members and guests. And Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground will begin Re-opening on June 22nd. Disney Vacation Club Resorts at Vero Beach and Hilton Head will also open to members and guests starting June 15.

Disney Parks Closed in March 2020 to July 2020

Disneyland Paris and Disney Cruise Line are closed.This also includes Downtown Disney. Disney Aulani and all international parks. Additionally Disney Stores across North America are closed. Thankfully shopDisney.com is still open.
On Thursday, prior to the announcement, Walt Disney World was filled with cheer teams and spring breakers amidst the Flower and Garden Festival and opening of Mickey’s and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. The decision to close is by no means sudden, given every other Disney Park in the world closed weeks ago.
Walt Disney World earlier shared precautions that were being taken to help prevent the spread and installed hand sanitizer stations across the parks. 

How Disney Closing Affects your Vacation

Adjustments to travel plans, refunds and cancellation options for upcoming trips can be found on each sites official announcement page below.

Guests who have had to cancel their Walt Disney World vacations from March 16, 2020 through May 31, 2020 are eligible for a special vacation package that includes accommodations at select Walt Disney World resorts, park admission and the Disney dining plan, valid for arrivals most nights June 1, 2020- September 30. 2020 when you book through May 31, 2020. To take advantage of this offer, call the Disney Reservation Center. And be patient! Know that wait times will likely be high at this time and cast members appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

What does Disney Closing mean for your Walt Disney World Annual Pass?

This was shared in an email to all Walt Disney World Annual Passholders. 

“In an abundance of caution, and in the best interest of our Guests and Cast Members, including our valued Passholders, we are proceeding with the closure of our theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort, beginning March 16 through March 31, 2020. We wanted to share the following information with you: 

  • All active Walt Disney World Annual Passes will be extended for the number of days the parks are closed.
  • Passes with renewal windows ending during the closure will also receive an extension of time to renew.
  • For Passholders participating in the Annual Pass Monthly Payment program, your monthly payments will continue as scheduled. Once your payments are completed, you will still have the extra days as provided above.

 We appreciate your patience and consideration during this unprecedented time. Over the coming weeks, your Annual Pass details in MyDisneyExperience will be updated to reflect new pass usage information. Pass block-out and admission calendars will not be updated during the closure period. Please visit DisneyWorld.com for the most updated details. Disney Destinations”
