This moderate resort at Walt Disney World is tucked away along the Sassagoula River.
In the Disney Springs Resort Area of Walt Disney World there are two Port Orleans Resorts: Riverside and French Quarter.
The more sophisticated of the two, Port Orleans Riverside features sprawling grounds reminiscent of the old South.
Complete with a tree lined river, a riverside mill restaurant, and rooms themed to Princess and Frog, this resort feels calm and easy.
The rooms at Port Orleans Riverside offer river, woods and standard views. Rooms feature fun Princess and the Frog touches, and classic elements.
If you're looking for more of a Disney Princess Experience you can check out the Royal Rooms, which feature queen beds, Princess and the Frog scenes and beautiful furniture.
Port Orleans Riverside has a variety of southern fare. Boatwrights Dining Hall, Riveside Mill Food Court, River Roost lounge, and the Muddy Rivers poolside bar.
One of our favorite reasons to stay at the Port Orleans resorts is the easy access to authentic New Orlean's Beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory.
Within walking distance of both, you can also get easy boat access from Riverside to Port Orleans French Quarter Resort and Disney Springs. Buses take you to the parks.
This sprawling resort is also covered in trees and trails for walking, or running. In fact you can even walk the paths all the way to Disney Springs.
And if walking is your favorite, you can rent a surrey bike to ride around the resort to see all there is to see along the Sassagoula river.
Or head to French Quarter to enjoy the live entertainment visit the restaurants and explore the gift shops and resort since the grounds are connected.
