We love Disney Springs. With new restaurants popping up all the time and the area expanding at lightning speed, we think it’s a great way to spend a non-Park day if you’re looking for a little bit of Disney mixed with a little bit of, well, something else. So over the past couple of years, we have been trying out different Disney Springs resorts to find a favorite place to stay when onsite resorts at Walt Disney World are too crowded or too expensive. We recently stayed at B Resort and Spa in Disney Springs, and honestly were surprised.
Disney Springs Area B Resort and Spa
Let us start by saying, B Resort and Spa in Orlando has been at the top of our list to stay at for a while in the Disney Springs area. It looks modern and chic and we love how close it is to Disney Springs. So when we scored a great deal on hotels.com I was super excited! Side note: if you plan on booking any Disney Springs hotel, check hotels.com first. The reason I mention this is because usually, you can get free parking by booking through them. And who doesn’t love free parking?! And we’ve noticed savings at almost all of the Disney Springs hotels through this site and highly recommend doing a price comparison first. The Atmosphere at B Resort
When you walk into the lobby of B Resort, it’s fresh, classy, and really feels like an upscale resort. The layout is truly beautiful and is probably one of the most beautiful lobby areas we’ve seen in the Disney Springs area. The pool area is also a really beautiful space and if you have a pool view room, there are balconies and patios that face toward it. The resort really does have a resort feel and feels like you could be at an upscale tropical hideaway somewhere not smack dab in the middle of a crowded tourist city.
The Rooms at B Resort
The rooms at B Resort and Spa are on par with the rest of the rooms in that area in terms of size. We were upgraded to a room with a “view” which sadly didn’t really have any view at all, and I’m sure that’s not always the case, but our view was literally a cement slab, so pretty underwhelming for us. We’ve had rooms with no view at other hotels that had a better, well, view.
While the hotel itself is very beautiful, the rooms felt uninviting, sterile, and really lacking character or warmth. This is obviously a matter of opinion, but we’ve stayed at other hotels in the Disney Springs area that we just felt were more our style. I get what they were going for here, I just don’t personally think it was executed well. I have visited hospital rooms that have felt more welcoming…..
We also noticed that the walls here are paper thin, in the worst way, and our room was always noisy as we were situated by a stairwell. Unfortunately, looking chic doesn’t equal a good night’s sleep. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean, so if you are only looking to sleep here, this may suit you just fine, unless of course, your room is near the stairwell. At least they have a Keurig in the room.
The Amenities at B Resort and Spa Orlando
B Resort and Spa is a Walt Disney World partner, meaning you still get many of the Walt Disney World benefits by staying here. There is no airport transportation either so you’ll have to rely on Uber or Lyft. We have found Lyft to be slightly cheaper than MCO Aside from being a Walt Disney World partner, B Resort also has a beautiful spa, fitness center, on-site laundry, business center, and as previously mentioned, a lovely pool. The property also boasts 3 restaurants and 2 bars. We did try out the food via room service and unfortunately, again it was pretty underwhelming for the price and service.
Not only was the service pretty bad in general for room service(we got hung up on 3 times before being able to place the order and when we finally got thru, we got yelled at), the food was actually cold when it arrived. Overall it was a pretty disappointing experience. We tend to like to try out room service from time to time because we know it’s something a lot of people like to use for convenience and unfortunately, I would say this was the worst we have maybe ever experienced.
Is B Resort Worth the Price?
Ok, so this is actually a little hard to write, especially when there are loads of positive blog posts on the internet about B Resort and Spa, but we have to be honest and say it is definitely not worth the price to stay here. Our experience was anything but magical and unfortunately when we talked about it on social media, lots of horror stories started coming in, all with similar complaints. Poor service, things being broken in the room (i.e. A/C) and not being fixed upon request, excessive noise, and just an overall lack of good experiences.
B Resort Parking Fees
In addition to the cost of the room and taxes, you’ll have to pay an extra $30 per day for a resort fee, and if you are parking a car, $22 per day for self-parking and $28 per day for valet. While resort and parking fees are common for Disney Springs hotels, we feel that an extra $50+ per day for nothing tangible is a bit excessive, especially if you’re only looking for a place to sleep. Keep in mind that guests staying at a Disney resort also get FREE Theme Park Parking at Disney World throughout the length of their stay.
Would we recommend B Resort?
At the end of the day, there was nothing stellar enough about our stay that would cause us to give it high praise, especially at that cost. The service was all around pretty disappointing, the rooms were just ok and again, the food was pretty disappointing as well.
Overall, B Resort and Spa sadly did not live up to our expectations and we are still on the hunt for our favorite Disney Springs area resort. We have stayed at several at this point and feel there are better options at a lower cost. Have you stayed at B Resort and Spa in Disney Springs? What are your thoughts?
