A Dole Whip Tea Latte Disney Drink Recipe

A Dole Whip Tea Latte Disney Drink Recipe

Summer is just around the corner.  And while summer heat and humidity might not be my favorite thing; summer foods are at the top of my list.  Give me anything cool and refreshing, tropical or fruity. Or all of the above! So in the spirit of summer, we recently created this Dole Whip Tea Latte!

Dole Whip Tea Latte

We love a little at-home Disney magic. And As much as we love dole whip in our house, we’ve never quite found a spot on copycat recipe. Plus, sometimes its just nice to mix things up! So when my daughter and I finally found Hawaiian Sun’s coconut syrup back in stock at World Market, we knew we’d have to try it for all the things.  And we’ve been having so much fun creating drinks for TikTok that we thought it could be a fun challenge to come up with something tropical and fun for summer.  This latte is super easy to make and even though we’ve named it a Dole Whip Tea Latte, it actually tastes a little like drinking a pineapple upside-down cake. It’s so delicious, light, fruity, and sweet.

Dole Whip Tea Latte ingredients

This recipe requires only a few ingredients and all of them, with the exception of the coconut syrup, are super easy to find at your local grocery store. Can’t find the coconut syrup? That’s ok, you could easily switch it out for a plain simple syrup or even Torani Coconut Syrup if you’re really craving that coconut flavor. A note on the coconut syrup though. The Hawaiian Sun Coconut Syrup is real coconut syrup. Like it separates and all that jazz. So if you’re planning to swap it for Torani, keep in mind, Torani is more a flavored simple syrup vs. actual real syrup made from coconuts.

Ok so moving on. Here’s what you’ll need for a Dole Whip Tea Latte

  • Black Tea. We had a pineapple black tea on hand, which was delicious, but a plain black tea will also work!
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Coconut Syrup
  • Coconut Milk
  • Non-Dairy Creamer. We like Silk Oat Yeah Creamer in French Vanilla for this, but you can use any cream you like. Just be aware if you use a dairy creamer, the acid from the pineapple juice can cause the mixture to split.

You’ll want a milk frother of some kind if you plan to make this according to the recipe. Or you can use a small blender to whip up some foam too.

Tips for Making a Dole Whip Tea Latte

I highly recommend adding the ingredients in the order stated if you can help it. First of all, it will create a really beautiful layering effect that is just so aesthetically pleasing. But more importantly, layering them this way will help with separation that can sometimes occur with acidic liquids. Have you ever ordered a Pink Drink from Starbucks only to find that the beautiful pink hue is completely tarnished by the separation of the ingredients? That’s due to the coconut milk not playing well with the other ingredients. By adding the splash of coconut milk on top of the tea, the chance for separation is smaller. It’s also the reason that we recommend oat milk creamer above. It reacts to the acid much better and will create a nicer foam for you.

The recipe doesn’t have a lot of specified measurements because it will really depend on the size of your glass, but also on your tastes. You want to add equal parts tea and pineapple juice. And the coconut milk addition is just a quick splash. For the pineapple/coconut cream, if you add more coconut syrup, it will be sweeter, so you can adjust the measurements to taste depending on your preferences.
