Celebrating your birthday on a Disney Cruise? We can’t think of a much better way to celebrate! Here are some fun ways to add a little magic to your special day at sea.
Celebrating your birthday on a Disney Cruise
Everyone views their birthdays differently. I never used to put too much stock into my birthday, but as I’ve gotten older, I realize every year is a blessing. So why not celebrate that? A Disney Cruise, though a lavish way to celebrate, could help you have the best birthday ever.
Have a Birthday Celebration on the Disney Cruise
There are many ways to celebrate your birthday on a Disney Cruise, it doesn’t matter which Disney Cruise Ship you sail, they always make you feel special. Make sure you have checked the birthday celebration box on your Disney Cruise Navigator. While this doesn’t really do much, your waitstaff will host a small celebration for you on one of the nights of your cruise. And by this I mean, they’ll bring you a special birthday dessert and sing to you. It’s small, but it’s fun and the birthday dessert is always something special you can’t get otherwise. Of course, if you don’t like people singing, you can probably skip checking that little box.
Order something special for your room
Want to have a little something special delivered to your room for your birthday? Under Onboard Gifts, you can select things like champagne, a Mickey or Minnie-shaped cake, flowers, and more. Order these for yourself or whoever’s birthday you’re celebrating, and when you arrive at your room, they’ll magically be there waiting for you! The selection varies by itinerary. So if you’d like to do this, just check the onboard gifts page associated with your cruise to see what’s available.
Have your stateroom decorated
Another option under the onboard gifts page is to have your room decorated. This isn’t available on all cruises. But many itineraries offer some sort of room decoration. If you’re going on a themed cruise, you’ll likely be able to find a room decoration associated with the theme. Themes like Halloween on the High Seas, Marvel, or Pixar at Sea usually have decorations that include blankets and ceiling decorations. Your stateroom host will have this all set up for you when you arrive. Just like magic!
Visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
If the birthday girl or boy is 12 or under, make a reservation at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for a royal makeover. Unlike the Walt Disney World and Disneyland versions, this experience tends to be a little easier to get. This experience can be booked before your cruise, and sometimes there are even spots available after boarding.
Get a manicure at the Tangled Salon
If you’re cruising on the Disney Wish, visit the Tangled salon for a manicure or fresh haircut and style. This salon is so pretty and such a luxurious experience at sea. It’s pretty easy to get appointments to be done up here too. Just stop by the salon on your voyage and see what they have available!
And if you’re not sailing on the Disney Wish, all of the other ships also have nail and hair services onboard in Senses Spa.
Treat yourself to a spa experience for your birthday on a Disney Cruise
Maybe Hair and Nails aren’t really your thing. That’s ok! Treat yourself to a massage, the Rainforest Room for some luxury, or a facial. Senses Spa is the perfect way to relax and treat yourself on your birthday.
Have Brunch or Dinner at a fancy restaurant on a Disney Cruise
No matter which ships you’re cruising on, there’s always a fancy adult-only dinner that can be had. These cost extra and require reservations. But if you book right when your excursion window opens up, it’s usually not too difficult to score one of these reservations. And if you can’t snag one beforehand, you can always try to get one once onboard. Disney Cruise Line usually keeps a small amount of these reservations for onboard booking, so just be sure to check once you arrive on Embarkation Day.
Do nothing on a Disney Cruise for your birthday
Sometimes, the best thing to do is simply nothing. And lucky for you, this is completely possible for your birthday on a Disney Cruise! Wake up with room service delivered for breakfast. Head to the decks to cozy up with a good book. Spend some time relaxing in the Rainforest Room. And end your day with a relaxing meal at one of your cruise ship’s main dining rooms. Sometimes doing nothing is the very best thing of all!
