Known as THE parade at Disney World, Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade, is a parade of enchantment featuring everyone’s favorite Disney characters. With a mix of music, dancing and parade floats, this Disney parade is the one you’ll remember most. From the Tangled float with high a high flying Flynn Rider, to Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen, you’ll see Disney Princesses, and characters from classic Disney films in this parade. Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom

Featuring the Maleficent Dragon that blows actual fire, you can count on seeing loads of Disney Characters, dancers, and beautifully themed floats in this parade. A Disney Must Do on our Magic Kingdom Checklist, this parade is shown twice daily at noon and 3PM. The Festival of Fantasy Parade is one of the major attractions at Magic Kingdom and popular enough to warrant planning ahead of time where you should stand to save your spot! Here are all the details about times, length, the music and tips so you can enjoy the parade.

Festival of Fantasy Parade Times and Length

When visiting Magic Kingdom, there is one parade to plan for, the Festival of Fantasy Parade. While you may see other character cavalcades throughout the day, know that the Festival of the Fantasy Parade is also known as the 3’o-clock parade, as not everyone knows the name. However, recently, Magic Kingdom also added a spot for the parade at 12 Noon as well. Now offered at both 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM, be sure to check the My Disney Experience App for showtimes the day of your visit.

What Time is the Festival of Fantasy Parade? 

The Festival of Fantasy Parade is offered 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM daily. 

How Long is the Festival of Fantasy Parade?

The Festival of Fantasy Parade lasts about 12 minutes from the time you see the first float, to the time you see the last. However, it’s generally closer to 20 minutes. That said, keep in mind that this does not include “waiting” time to reserve your spot. For the best spots, plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the parade. While we think this is adequate, during busy times, people are sometimes almost 60 minutes ahead of time waiting in highly coveted spots.

Festival of Fantasy Parade Route

The Parade Route for the Festival of Fantasy Parade runs from the Frontierland gate through Liberty Square, wrapping in front of the castle down Main Street USA. The parade ends at the Fire Station gate in Town Square at the front of the park. As noted by the yellow line on the Magic Kingdom Map. As you’ll notice, there are plenty of places from which to watch this parade. Here are our favorites.

Best Place to See the Festival of Fantasy Parade?

If you’re looking for a place to stand and watch the parade then the best place is typically at the end of Main Street, on the Town Square hub. However, there are a couple other top notch choices, if you find the areas too full. And it all really depends on what you want in the background. Waiting for the parade on the Main Street Town Square gives you the castle in the background. However, it is also one of the toughest places to claim, simply because people show up about an hour early at this spot.

As a result, if you don’t want to spend your time waiting on the curb for the parade, there are some other places that give you unique views that won’t require you “reserve your spot” for quite as long. Keep in mind too that much like the Happily Ever After Fireworks Show that your spot is only good until someone stands in front of you with a child on their shoulders. As a result, be VERY mindful about choosing spots where that can’t happen.

On the End Main Street Town Square

The Best Spot for viewing Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade is at the end of Main Street in Town Square. This gets you Cinderella Castle centered in the backdrop and  makes for beautiful photos! Keep in mind that with the floats coming straight at you at this location, you will get smiles and waves from the characters, but you will also get views of them waiving to the guests on each side of the parade route.

At the End of the Bridge in Liberty Square

Just across from the Sleepy Hollow Restaurant, or on the opposite side of the road across from the Christmas Shoppe, are great places to stand for the Festival of Fantasy Parade. While the area at the castle courtyard at the edge of the Liberty Square bridge is typically blocked off, the Area in Liberty Square Right Before the Bridge is roped off! Meaning that if stand in the right spot, you’ll get to see the floats, and dancers up close before they head over the bridge.

Frontierland in Front of the Pin Shop

There are certain spots along the Frontierland section of the route, like in Frontierland in Front of the Pin Shop, that indent into the covered porches along the shops. These spots offer places where no one will be able to stand in front of you, giving you your best chance at seeing the parade. Again, be mindful of the background  if you’re taking photos, as most of the Frontierland area will simply show other people across the midway in the backdrop.

In Front of the Main Street Train Station

Another fantastic spot from which to watch the Festival of Festival Parade is right In front of the Train Station on Town Square. A absolutely fantastic find, we discovered this spot when we last watched the Boo to You Parade at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Situate yourself near the base of the Train Station stairs, and you’ll be in a prime spot to see the floats, as the come almost straight at you, before making the turn towards the Fire Station. Be aware of the lamp posts that may be in your photos, as they could add some glare, but if you position it right, you’ll have a great spot, and great photos.

Characters in the Festival of Fantasy Parade are both from classic Disney movies and newer films. While each doesn’t necessarily have their own float, you will see familiar faces dancing, and singing along from some  floats that are shared.
