One of the best parts of any Disney Cruise is exploring the ship. Filled with spaces in a variety of themes, Disney Cruise Ship Lounges offer areas for activities, live music, and evenings “out.” But there are so many more things to know! For instance, families can hang out most of the day in these spaces for fun crafts, activities, and more. Trivia and games also take place in these spaces. And in the evenings, they turn into classic lounge spaces. Here’s a roundup of everything you can do in a Disney Cruise Ship Lounge.

Disney Cruise Lounges Atmosphere
Every Disney Cruise Ship has a series of lounges, i.e. places to grab a drink, coffee, or bar snacks if you will. So if you’re looking for which bars on a Disney Cruise, this is the place. That said, that’s not all they’re used for. These magical spaces each have a theme all their own and are beautifully decorated. Attention to detail comes into play in the seating, the atmosphere, the beverage and food menu, and decor. Luckily, many of these spaces aren’t only for adults either. While certain Disney Cruise Ship Lounges are smaller and focused, others offer large spaces for gatherings. Take a look at all the Disney Cruise Ship Lounges on each Disney Cruise Ship below, to get a feel for the theme of each.
Do Disney Cruise Ships Serve Alcohol?
Yes! Disney Cruise Line has a variety of bars, lounges and nightclubs on board each Disney Cruise Ship. And believe it or not, alcoholic beverages can be found nearly everywhere! From wine at dinner to a wide array of cocktails, beer, wines and spirits in each lounge, you can even get Baileys in your coffee. Just one of our favorite reasons that a Disney Cruise is Great for Adults.
Disney Cruise Lounge Activities
Many of the Disney Lounges onboard the Disney Cruise ships have daytime hours and evening hours. Meaning that during the day, they will host a variety of activities for families and adults, whereas in the evening they become more strictly adult-only and switch to a nightclub, lounge, or bar vibe.
During the day, however, you can enjoy a variety of programming set up by the crew and entertainment team. Simply check out the Disney Cruise Navigator App, available once you’ve turned on airplane mode and linked into the Disney Cruise wi-fi. At that point, you will find your daily activity list sharing what is happening when and where throughout your cruise. This is also where you can check announcements and your Drink of the Day (available in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options).
Bingo
If you’re looking to play for some big money, look no further than Bingo. Offered throughout the cruise, Bingo is one of the most popular activities on board and typically takes place in the largest Disney Cruise Ship Lounge. On the Disney Magic, Wonder, Fantasy, and Dream you can play bingo in the D Lounge. On the Disney Wish, Bingo is available in Luna.
Trivia
One of our absolute favorite things to do on a Disney Cruise is testing our Disney Trivia knowledge. Because it really is about learning more Disney facts, than the prizes. Especially since the prizes are typically snacks like a Mickey Rice Krispie treat- which you can get for free anywhere onboard anyway. That said, the trivia truly is the best and well worth the time! Often themed by the cast members, who come up with the questions, you can try your hand at Disney Villains trivia, Movie Trivia, History Trivia, Musical Trivia, and more.
Musical Trivia is by far our favorite and one where we recently got to experience Disney pianist Matt Grinke playing familiar Disney tunes, to a “Guess that Tune Trivia”. It’s a great time, and he plays beautifully! We’re thrilled to see his next contract is on the Disney Wish starting this fall, so if you’re traveling be on the lookout for his trivia!
Crafts
Ahhh, there is nothing like hanging out on a Disney Cruise crafting. You’re on vacation after all. And on a Disney Cruise, you’re able to settle into a cozy booth in a Disney Lounge and dig into whatever activity is up next. Many of the crafts on board are paper crafts; simply things involving glue, paper, and crayons. Perfect for families. and many of these activities commandeer any of the many Disney Cruise Ship Lounges onboard.
Towel Friend Folding
Another fun activity that is typically offered on longer cruise vacations is Towel Friend Folding. Seen on board throughout your cruise, this towel folding craft experience is taught by the housekeeping staff. If you haven’t experienced this yet, you’ll come home to your cruise cabin with a towel friend waiting on your bed. And this activity teaches you how to make them.
Tastings
Available on every Disney Cruise Ship is the opportunity to enjoy beverage tastings. These events and classes are an extra charge and include things like chocolate liqueur tastings, champagne tastings, wine and cheese pairings, whiskey sampling, and more. They do sell out FAST! So if you’re thinking of booking one, do so as soon as you’re on the boat. These activities take place in the smaller lounges onboard, so it gives you a chance to see spaces of the ship you may not have before.
Anyone Can Cook Cooking Class
Another activity that typically takes place in D Lounge is the Anyone Can Cook series. Only available when there is a chef and ingredients available, this class offers instructions and a tasty treat. On our last cruise, this was Apple Strudel making, and totally worth learning how to do. Plus delicious too.
Disney Coffee Bar Lounges
Found on all Disney Cruise Ships is the Cove Cafe. This is an adult-only coffee lounge, typically located in the adult area of the boat. Specialty coffees, cold brews, espressos, and coffee with alcohol all cost extra. But, the pastries in the case for “free”… since it’s included in your cruise package. There is a sister coffee bar generally located near the center of the ship on deck 4 or 5 that serves up the same menu and is open to all ages. On the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream, the family-friendly coffee bar is called Vista Point.
Are Kids Allowed in Disney Cruise Ship Lounges?
Yes! Kids are allowed in Disney Lounge spaces typically until 5 or 6 pm at which point they become adult-only. Afterward, the lounge shifts to a more adult atmosphere with live music.
Lounges Found on All Disney Cruise Ships
One of the best things about the Disney Cruise Line Ships is that they are all relatively similar. Which, for us, just means it feels like we’re coming home every time we set sail. We tend to know a bit about the layout, and the things we’ll find on each boat. This is especially true for the sister boats. The Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy are sister boats and have the same layouts, but with some different restaurants and lounges. And slightly smaller, the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic are sister ships that are also quite similar.
Cove Cafe
Also, since each boat has some similarities there are a couple of things that are available on all of them. Cove Cafe is the boat’s coffee shop. Often tucked away in the Adult area of Deck 11, Cove Cafe offers up specialty coffees for a fee and free pastries from the case.
D-Lounge
And found on the Disney Magic, Wonder, Fantasy and Dream is the larger lounge, D Lounge. D Lounge offers up dancing space, as well as tables and chairs for large-scale activities. This lounge is not available on the Disney Wish.
Are the Lounges on the Disney Cruise Ships the Same?
No! Just as each ship has its own character and theme, each Disney Cruise Ship Lounge does too. Even among sister ships where the Lounges are named the same you can find differences.
Where are the Lounges on a Disney Cruise Ship?
Another mainstay of the Disney Cruise Line is that Disney Lounges tend to be grouped together. This is for easy access and the ability to do activities one after the other instead of hiking across the boat to your next activity. It also tends to keep the evening drinkers away from the evening family activities, which is a nice separation. As such you can look for the area called “After Hours” on both the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic which includes all of the lounges together. Alternatively, on the Disney Dream the lounges are in an area called “The District”. And on the Disney Fantasy, lounges are in an area called “Europa.”
