Inside Out 2 

In this follow-up to Pixar’s original film, Inside Out, the latest installment promises an interesting journey through Riley’s teenage years. While the original film broke several barriers with the ability to chat about mental health in a meaningful way on screen, this follow-up promises an emotional visit to everyone’s favorite time; the teenage era. One of two New Disney Pixar Movies in 2024, and 2025.

Deadpool 3 | Deadpool and Wolverine

In the highly anticipated third installment of the Deadpool films, Deadpool 3 arrives with returning characters in tow; Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Jennifer Garner as Elektra. Currently the ONLY Marvel Movie by Disney releasing in 2024, this film only recently returned to filming post actors strike.

Moana 2

This Disney Animated Film continues the Moana storyline, and is set to release only in theaters in November 2024. Originally meant to be a Disney+ series, this animated continuation of Moana’s story was announced in February 2024, as a feature film release instead.  The live action Moana film is still in development and will be released at a later time.

Mufasa The Lion King

This Lion King prequel tells the story of Mufasa as  an orphaned lion cub and how he came to rise into his role as King of the Pride Lands. Surely, Scar will be on hand to thwart his best intentions. With a musical score penned by Hans Zimmer, Pharrell Williams, and Nicholas Britell, this New Disney Movies Live Action promises to follow in the dramatic footsteps we saw in Favreau’s Jungle Book.

New Disney Movies Releases 2025

2025 Disney Movies combine Disney live-action films, new Marvel movies, TRON and Avatar. All set to hit theaters in 2025, these Disney Movies have been rescheduled multiple times! So, fingers crossed, we can stick with these release dates!

Captain America Brave New World

With an official Captain America Brave New World webpage gearing up for this 2025 release, the Marvel film has a lot going for it. With a stellar cast including Anthony Mackie and Harrison Ford, and a rich storyline emboldened by the Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, there’s a lot that can be done with this new Marvel film. Disney’s Snow White Live-Action

Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler star as the Evil Queen and Snow White, fighting over whose fairest. But also, it seems, for women’s rights. Without a prince or huntsman, Andrew Burnap has been cast to play a male original character, joining the seven dwarves. With original music created by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul ( writers of La La Land, and The Greatest Showman) there will surely be some meaningful ballads in this one. Snow White is the latest in a slew of New Disney Movies Live Action offerings.

Fantastic Four

Joining the Marvel Multiverse in it’s final chapter, the Fantastic Four is skipping the origin story, for a new kind of story. One that seats them as an active presence already in the fabric of the multiverse, and lays the storyscape for upcoming Marvel films, Avengers: Kang Dynasty, or Secret Wars. All of which begins the end of the Marvel Multiverse.

Elio 

The newest Pixar animated film explores the idea of life on other planets when Elio makes contact with aliens. This young boy gets all caught up in the action when he acts as an ambassador for Earth amongst the “United Nations” of the galaxy. Featuring America Ferrera, and Jameela Jamil, this film promises to put this interesting topic on full display. Dare we say in hopes of showing us how it needs to be done in real life when the time arrives?

Blade

Screenwriter Michael Green has taken over as screenwriter for Marvel’s vampire movie, Blade. Which has been going through some screenwriting issues as of late. With production costs at $100 million, box office return is expected to be high. Featuring Mahershala Ali and Mia Goth, both with their own established followings, we’re hoping the storyline for this Phase 6 Marvel can appease both past and present Blade fans.

Zootopia 2

Following Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde in the wilds of Zootopia, the second installment of this film has few details. Surely playing off the success of this film overseas, Zootopia 2 may be a little late to the game to reach its original audience. But tie-ins to the theme parks outside of the U.S. will be helpful in its release.

TRON Ares ( Tron 3)

Icon, Jared Leto leads the cast in a reboot of the TRON franchise with TRON: Ares. Set around the Ares character who has crossed the computer program realm into the real world, this story has a fish-out-of-water feel. And with Joachim Ronning directing, we can expect to see amazing special effects and world-building as he created in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Avatar 3

Arriving for Christmas 2025, Avatar 3 can be considered the film that pushed James Cameron into New Zealand citizenship. Avatar 3 introduces a more antagonistic race of Na’vi, known as the Ash People, an aggressive, volcanic race. The Avatar movies follow themes of earth, water, air, fire, and (later) aether, the classical elements.

New Disney Movies Releases 2026

Still largely undecided the new Disney Movies in 2026 are set around already established franchises in Marvel and Star Wars. While the momentum for these stories is slowing a bit, it will be interesting to see if Disney can revive the fanbase to rally around these new installments. 

Avengers 5 ( The Kang Dynasty)

Loki Season 1 screenwriter Michael Waldron is writing Avengers The Kang Dynasty in what promises to be the beginning of the end for the Marvel multiverse. And for consistency’s sake, he is also rumored to write Avengers: Secret Wars. Little is known at present about the plot or actor lineup but we’ll update this space as news arrives.

The Mandalorian and Grogu

“The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Toy Story 5

In a last-minute effort by Disney to continue maximizing current franchises, fans have been promised a Toy Story 5. While original fans of the 1995 Toy Story, may have children at the right age to enjoy yet another installment, the story “technically” wrapped up in 2019, with Toy Story 4. Most likely arriving in 2025, for the 30th Anniversary of the original, Toy Story 5 is rumored to follow Andy as a grown-up, and of course, Woody, Buzz, and the whole gang.

Disney’s Moana-Live Action

With Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as Maui, in live-action form, this remake of Moana is sure to be larger than life. While the original Disney animated movie isn’t all that old, the live-action version will take advantage of the original score, scenery, and storyline that won its accolades in 2016.

Frozen 3

Announced alongside other sequels, Frozen 3 is on the books for Disney Studios. With no clue what this one will be about, we can be sure that Olaf and Elsa are at the center of the story, alongside Anna and Kristoff. With the latter previously ruling Arendelle and Elsa finding the source of her powers ( and her mother) in the unknown, an unforeseen conflict will surely further this story in part III.

New Disney Movies Coming Soon

As a Disney Movie fan, you can always count on new stories surrounding your favorite Disney characters, Star Wars rebels and Marvel superheroes. As such, there is no shortage of Disney Movies in development! With a variety of Disney Animation, Disney Live Action and Disney Pixar releases in the lineup, there is a wide array of genres, and storytelling here. These New Disney Movies have been announced previously at a variety of comic-cons, Destination D23 and the D23EXPO. We don’t have dates around these films yet, but as soon as we do, we’ll add them into the Disney Movie Schedule. 

The Aristocats Live Action

Peter Rabbit director, Will Gluck, and Keith Bunin take on the scriptwriting for a live-action remake of Aristocats, following the same concept, look and feel as Disney Plus’ Lady and the Tramp. Director Questlove is also set to produce and oversee music.

While a Cruella 2 film may be in the works for 2025, and as a Disney Plus+ release little is  known at the moment, except that Emma Stone is still slated to play the lead.

Lando

With the Glover brothers at the helm of the Lando Calrissian story, we can expect this film, maybe, in 2025. Promised to be a full fledged movie once it manifests, we’re expecting this one to take one of the spots slated for the “untitled Star Wars” films.

Sword and the Stone Live-Action- Disney Plus+ 

While this Disney Live Action remake entered the Disney Movie Release Schedule back in 2015, little has been done to move it forward. Promising that Game of Thrones writer, Bryan Cogman, would be taking the lead on the script, it’s actually now been added as an EXCLUSIVE Disney Plus+ release when it arrives. Disney will, no doubt, stagger the critical releases to claim Disney Plus+ subscribers as needed. We wouldn’t expect this one  before 2026, given other major releases set for the platform prior.

Marley

Reinventing the classic Christmas Carol into a musical, this new Disney musical already has the script written, by Bill Condon. And includes the Oscar winning composer, Stephen Schwartz, writing the music. Having previously worked on Hunchback, Pocahontas and Broadway’s Wicked, we’d expect huge musical numbers in emotional lighting for this one. Nothing has been shared about timing for a release.

The on again, off again Pirates of the Caribbean 6 drama has been going on since Depp left the franchise. And then of course Margot Robbie, was in line for the titular role of Red…but that also seems a distant memory now. With multiple scripts written for this one, there doesn’t seem much chance that Depp, Knightly, or Bloom will return.

Another Disney Live Action film that has been on the table for some time, this  film has seen a slew of cast suggestions offered up by fans.
