With so many new things opening up at Walt Disney World lately, it can be hard to keep up! We’ve been anxiously waiting to see what Walt Disney World has dreamt up for the new look of Caribbean Beach Resort. And along with that, their new restaurant, Sebastian’s Bistro.
Although I think we generally tend to be in the minority here, we have been fans Caribbean Beach Resort since our initial stay there. We have been super excited to see what the renovation would bring and if you’ve been following us for a while, you’ll know we love food!
So when we heard Sebastian’s Bistro had opened up at Caribbean Beach Resort, we knew right away we needed to try it. I mean how can we write a restaurant review for you guys if we don’t visit it and try the food, am I right?!
Reservations were super easy to get, and although this is a smaller restaurant, we anticipate this will be the case for a while. This is simply because there is still a lot of construction around and at the resort which will likely deter a lot of people for a while.
Caribbean Beach Resort Renovation
The renovation of the Main house is light, airy, modern and fresh and we were thrilled with how it turned out. A much different “Caribbean” theme than we had previously seen here, just walking into the lobby made us even more excited to see and try Sebastian’s Bistro.
After walking through the lobby, you can find the new bar area overlooking the water and Aruba in the distance. Complete with swing loungers and beautiful drapery, the open air bar area already exudes a step above the old theming of Caribbean Beach. Seriously, I’m pretty sure we could just stay here all day. Swoon.
Dining at Sebastian’s Bistro
Sebastian’s Bistro has the same vibe: modern, simple and beautiful. It’s a fairly small restaurant, but not cramped and with high ceilings, definitely feels bigger than it actually is. We absolutely loved the décor and color scheme inside the restaurant and one day, when I own a beach house, this is how I’ll have it decorated. A girl can dream, right?
The menu, which the server described as “adventurous”, consists of a lot of bolder flavors, seafood, and some fun drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Depending on your appetite and tastes, you can get a sandwich for as low as $14 or a steak as much as $28.
The pricing is pretty on point with most dining options at Walt Disney World. Portion sizes are plenty, so you can definitely get away with sharing if you want to save on costs or if you have a smaller appetite like we do. The server actually recommended this since we were wanting to have an appetizer, lunch and dessert.
We started out with the Carribbean Pull-apart rolls, which come with 3 dipping sauces. Guava Butter, Mango Chutney and Jamaican Jerk Oil come with the rolls. We liked them all but the jerk oil was probably our favorite. We’re Italian so we always have oil with our bread and this was a nice twist on an old favorite for us. We highly recommend getting bread service to start. Its fun, delicious and super share-able.
For the main course, we decided to share the Crispy Avocado Bacon Burger, and I’m glad we did. This thing was huge. Topped with chimichurri and pico de gallo, the flavors were fantastic. We take any chance we can to eat avocado, which definitely swayed our decision, but the waitress actually recommended this for “picky” eaters, which we aren’t, but I can see why this would be her recommendation.
Of course we can’t have a meal at Walt Disney World without a dessert, so we ordered the Banoffee Tart, another one of the recommendations from the server. If you like Banana, you will really enjoy this; if you don’t you should skip it. It was very good, with chocolate and caramel to compliment the banana very nicely, but the banana flavor is very strong. So you really have to like banana to enjoy this one.
Overall, we really enjoyed the entire experience of Sebastian’s Bistro at the Caribbean Beach Resort. From the setting to the food, we love the step up in theme-ing and can’t wait to see what new additions come to the resort as it comes into its final stages! Have you been to Caribbean Beach lately? What do you think of the new renovations? Let us know, we’d love to hear!
