You guys know we love our free Disney games. In fact, it’s something we try to include every trip we have. Free fun? Yes, please. Sign us up. So when we found out that the Disney Dream Cruise Ship had a free game, we knew we had to check it out!
A Fun and Free Disney Game on the Disney Dream
During our last Disney cruise on the Disney Dream, we noticed a kiosk near our room for the Mid-ship Detective Agency Game. If you’ve ever played Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, the game is slightly similar in how it’s played, but with a different storyline to keep it interesting. Plus you can also play the Midship Detective Agency game on the Disney Fantasy Cruise Ship too!
The premise of this Disney Dream Cruise Game is that a crime has been committed on the ship. You have been hired to help solve it! Using the clue book that is available at the kiosk where you sign up, you will help find clues and determine who committed these dastardly crimes onboard the Disney Dream. Our ship has three separate games to choose from, and we actually played two of them. It was for research, of course. At the kiosk, you will take a detective badge, a map, and a pencil. All good detectives need to take good notes, right? You choose which crime you’d like to solve and the screen prompts you from there.
How to Play the Midship Detective Agency Game
At the kiosk, you will take a detective badge, a map, and a pencil. All good detectives need to take good notes, right? You choose which crime you’d like to solve and the screen prompts you from there. Once you are given the backstory on the crime at the main kiosk, you will be directed to start your mission. Like Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, you will go to different sections of the ship(most of them are paintings), stand on the emblem on the floor, hold up your detective card(or badge) and a scene will play for you, giving you clues or valuable information needed to help solve the case. You’ll basically do this until instructed to do something else, or until you’ve solved the crime!
How Long does it take to play this Game?
According to the directions, you don’t need to visit all of the landmarks or paintings to solve the crime, but we ended up visiting most of them by the time the game was over. Overall, it took us about an hour to complete each case. Give or take more or less time depending on your familiarity with the ship.
Midship Detective Agency Disney Dream Cruise Game Review
So there you have it! It’s a pretty simple and straightforward game but we love that it’s free AND we also loved that it helped orient us to the ship a bit. The game will take you all over the Disney Dream, so navigating all of its levels really did help us get acquainted with the layout, which is not as easy as you would think, especially on the larger ships.
So if you’re sailing on the Disney Dream and are looking for some fun and free Disney Games to do while sailing, or just need to change up you’re routine a bit, we highly recommend the Midship Detective Agency.
