If you’re visiting Walt Disney World for Halloween, there is no shortage of things to do. From seasonal fun in the parks and resorts to Disney Springs, we’re sharing our lineup of the Top 10 Things to Do at Walt Disney World for Halloween. Because heading to Disney World for the spooky season means that you should be able to have fun even if you’re not spending a fortune to be there. 

We know you’ve seen these lists before. Heck, we even have a few here on this blog! But as new things are always popping up, to help celebrate the Halloween season at Walt Disney World, we thought we’d add EVEN MORE to our already lengthy Disney Halloween list posts. This fall event at Disney Springs combines live music, decorations, sales, snacks, and performances. If visiting the last week of October you can catch not only live music but also The Zombeats and the Skeleton Stiltwalkers. Take a look at everything happening at Fall into Magic at Disney Springs. And luckily, strolling around to see the sights and sounds of the season is FREE.

Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit Scavenger Hunt at EPCOT 

Offered late September through October 31, this scavenger hunt game features a slew of pumpkins hidden throughout the EPCOT World Showcase. Featuring the faces of familiar characters, this game gets you a souvenir. Years past have seen little trick-or-treat pumpkins, tumblers, and patches. You can play the game for $9.99 plus tax to collect a prize. Or just stroll the World Showcase at EPCOT to see if you can find all the pumpkins!

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom

This event requires an extra ticket but can be worth it if you skip your park ticket for the day. Featuring the Boo to You Parade, Not So Spooky Fireworks, and Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, this party also has rare characters in costumes, trick-or-treat, and Halloween ride overlays. As our favorite event at Disney World and the reason for our annual trip, we highly recommend adding this to your Disney Halloween vacation. Halloween Light Displays at Fort Wilderness Campground

Add some FREE fun to your Halloween at Walt Disney World plans with a drive around the campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. Campers dress up their RVs, campsites, and cabins, and you can see loads of creative displays. We love this best in the evenings when everything is lit up. Just rent a golf cart at Fort Wilderness for a drive around the resort. You don’t even have to be staying there. Just call 407-WDW-PLAY to reserve a golf cart ahead of time.

Halloween Movies Under the Stars at Disney Resorts

If you’re staying at a Disney Resort for Halloween, then you can check the recreation guide at your resort for the Movies Under the Stars schedule. Through the month of October, classic Halloween movies, like Frankenweenie, Halloweentown, Hocus Pocus, and Twitches are usually on the schedule. These movies typically take place on the lawn or beach, or near the resort pool. And if you’re not staying at a Disney Resort but are around during the 6:30/7 pm hour, often you can see the movies at more visible resorts. Disney’s Beach Club typically puts a movie screen up on the beach on the Disney BoardWalk which is FREE to access. So you can just grab a lounger and stay awhile.

Minnie’s Halloween Dine at Hollywood and Vine at Hollywood Studios

This seasonal character meal features Minnie and friends dressed up in their Halloween best. This buffet character meal serves up an array of foods, perfect for families, and spooky dessert treats to top things off. Think ribs, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, and of course quinoa and salads, and bread. Definitely a comfort food meal.  One of the best ways to get Disney characters in Halloween costumes all in one place you can grab photos with characters throughout your meal.

Celebrate Halloween at the Disney Resorts

The Disney Resorts celebrate Halloween in numerous ways! Featuring Halloween and Fall decorations in the lobbies, seasonal menus and Halloween snacks in the commissaries, and plenty of Disney Halloween Merchandise there is much to be had! But some Disney Resorts just do this better than others. From displays featuring our favorite villains to Mickey Pumpkins, Carousel Wreaths, and garlands galore, seeking out Halloween decorations can be done everywhere. Be sure to take the time to stroll the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs to appreciate the decorations and get ideas for your Halloween Decorations back home.

Try the New Disney Halloween Snacks

Nothing says Halloween like new treats to try at Walt Disney World. Luckily in addition to loads of spooky caramel apples dressed up like Frankenstein, and pumpkin spice drinks, you can also find a slew of New Halloween Snacks at Walt Disney World. This time of year you get both spooky and sweet. With flavors like pumpkin, apple, caramel, and marshmallow, you’re sure to find a new favorite treat.
