Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria Review

Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria Review

If you’ve seen photos of Italian food at Disney parks, chances it was from EPCOT’s Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria. This Italian restaurant at Walt Disney World serves Hand Tossed Pizzas, Lasagna, Salads, Meats, and some of the best Italian food around. Better yet, the Via Napoli Epcot atmosphere includes Large Italian Ovens reminiscent of the Bocca Della Verita ( the mouth of truth in Rome, Italy.) Thus making for a truly Old-World Italian restaurant feeling. But is this restaurant worth the time or cost? Does the Hard to-Get Disney Dining Reservations warrant the effort? Here’s everything to know before you go about Via Napoli Restaurant at EPCOT Park.

Via Napoli EPCOT Details

An Italian restaurant inside EPCOT Park, Via Napoli can be found in the World Showcase Italy Pavilion. Way at the back of this space, you’ll see the classic Italianate architecture that dons much of the pavilion, reminiscent of St. Marks Square in Italy. Honoring the landscape of Southern Italy, Via Napoli’s wood-burning ovens, are named after active volcanoes in Italy; Mount Etna, Mount Vesuvius, and Stromboli.

Inspired by the cuisine of Naples, restauranteur Nick Valenti is credited with crafting the amazing menu at Via Napoli, which includes pasta, meats, charcuterie, salads, and of course pizzas. You’ll also find authentic Italian desserts, a kid’s menu, and an extensive wine list with regional Italian wines of all varieties and price points.

Via Napoli Epcot Hours

Serving lunch and dinner, Via Napoli serves the same menu for both meals. And you’ll note there’s just a short break between seatings. So it really si about what’s best for you in terms of time. Know that at certain times it is easier to get reservations, like during off-meal hours.

  • Lunch – 11:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Dinner – 4:05 PM to 9:00 PM

Via Napoli Epcot Reservations

Making Advanced Disney Dining Reservations is highly recommended for Via Napoli as this is a popular restaurant. You can make reservations for Via Napoli in the My Disney Experience App or on the Disney Website. Via Napoli does not accept same-day bookings for lunch or dinner and rarely has last-minute availability. As a Disney theme park restaurant, you do need to have a park ticket to eat at Via Napoli.

How Many Dining Credits is Via Napoli on the Disney Dining Plan?

If you have the Disney Dining Plan, you can plan to spend 1 Table Service Credit at Via Napoli per person for lunch or dinner. This includes 1 entree, a dessert, and a drink. Alcoholic beverages and additional menu items are extra. And as far as restaruatns at Disney go, this one offers pretty affordable food, at great portion sizes. As such, it’s not the best use of a dining credit. But it’s your call! Check the menu to see what you’d be ordering and add it up to see if it makes sense for you!

Via Napoli Restaurant Review EPCOT

Via Napoli Atmosphere

This restaurant is frequented by Disney families and adults alike. While Via Napoli doesn’t have characters and isn’t a Disney-themed restaurant, there is still plenty here for kids to love. Via Napoli includes both table and booth seating in separate areas, with a full view of the pizza ovens. Depending on where you are seated you may be able to get a view of the chefs tossing the pizzas before putting them in the oven too.

The restaurant opens into a very large space and also includes higher bar table seating to make it feel less like a cafeteria. We did think this would be a cute restaurant for special events like baby showers or bridal showers. The Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar is also just next door if you find a bottle of something you’d like to try while you dine.

Via Napoli Menu

In classic Italian tradition, the menu here is filled with a variety of small plates, meats and seafood, pasta, and pizza. With dishes that both kids and adults will love, here are some of the foods on the Via Napoli EPCOT Menu. Know that you DO NOT get bread service here. If you were hoping to add some focaccia to your dinner, you can order it as an appetizer. Frankly, this did catch us a bit off guard, but we recovered and ordered the focaccia anyway. Here are some of the things you can find on the Via Napoli Menu.

Appetizers

Small plate appetizers includes a variety of foods that everyone loves; breads, cheeses, salads, arancini, and charcuterie options. Prices range between $9 for the bread to $23 for the calamari. And if you’re hoping for the Tagliere, which is the highest-cost appetizer at $40, but can be shared between two people.

  • Homemade Focaccia: Served with sides of marinara and Italian extra virgin olive oil and herbs
  • Tagliere:  Serves 2, offers a chef’s selection of cured meats, cheeses, jam, olives, grapes, and grissini bread
  • Arancini: fried risotto balls, fontina cheese, and meat ragù.
  • Mozzarella Caprese: fior di latte mozzarella, vine-ripened tomato, basil

Salads

Not by any means necessary unless you so choose to add a salad to your meal, Salads at Via Napoli, come in two options, house salad or Caesar. The restrictions here are that the $9 price per person for the house salad, is offered for two people only. And the Cesare is $21. We did get the house salad, and while it was good, was not necessary.

Pasta

Our favorite thing about Italian cooking is the pasta, of course. And Via Napoli offers a variety of pasta options like manicotti, spaghetti with meatballs, tortellini, and more are available. Ranging in price for $28- $31 per dish, adding chicken or shrimp is an option.

Main Courses

Entrees at Via Napoli include meat dishes, and range from $39- $49 each, depending on what you order. Options for the main course include sea bass, chicken parmesan, and beef filet. While all great choices, the pizza here is really the showstopper, so we tend to skip the entrees.

Via Napoli Pizza at EPCOT

Via Napoli Pizza

Via Napoli is best known for its pizzas, which is what we decided to grab on our visit here. And we were not disappointed. Pizzas to choose from include unique flavors in a variety of sizes. Price points range from about $25- $60.

  • Carciofi Pizza: white pizza – artichoke, fontina, mozzarella, truffle oil
  • Prosciutto e Melon Pizza: white pizza – fontina, mozzarella, prosciutto, cantaloupe, arugula
  • Capricciosa Pizza: tomato sauce, mozzarella parmacotto ham, olives, artichokes, mushrooms, oregano
  • Quattro Formaggi Pizza: white pizza – mozzarella, parmesan, fontina, provolone
  • Margherita Pizza: tomato sauce, mozzarella, basil
  • Meat Lover Pizza: tomato sauce, mozzarella, italian spicy sausage, pancetta, parmacotto ham, pepperoni

You also have the option to Build Your Own Pizza with a variety of topping choices at Via Napoli.

Large Margherita Pizza

We ordered the Margherita pizza at Via Napoli to share. This was a true wood-fired pizza with excellent crust, we probably couldn’t get elsewhere. As noted, neither the salad nor a bread service comes free. As a result, we ordered a salad to share.  We got a large Margherita pizza, which is perfect for 4 people at 2 very large slices each. Now, we do love pizza, a lot. And hand-tossed, wood-fired pizza is a favorite; very thin and smoky. It actually makes for a nice lighter meal than the heavier pasta or meats here.

If the pizza is meant to be your main meal here plan on having a snack later. True Italian pizzas are very lightly topped with toppings. So, you will not find the breadth of protein on your pizza here and you will get hungry if this is all you have for dinner. For that reason, we also wouldn’t necessarily recommend using your Disney Dining Plan Credits here unless you planned to order the more expensive items from the menu. Review the Via Napoli Lunch and Dinner Menu.

Can you order a Pizza To Go at Via Napoli EPCOT?

No, unfortunately, Via Napoli EPCOT does not offer To-Go Meal service for pizza or any menu items. As such, if you’re hoping to eat here, plan to book Via Napoli at the 60 day mark, when your Disney Dining Reservation window opens. If you’re looking for Pizza Delivery at Disney World options, check out our Pizza at Disney World for Disney Pizza To Go options.

Via Napoli Desserts

Via Napoli features some of the best classic Italian desserts. Things like Tiramisu, Cannoli, Cheesecake, Chocolate Tortes, and even a Limoncello Float are all on the menu here. You can even grab the little fried donuts, Bombolone, from the kid’s menu. Specialty drinks include a Limoncello Flight, Sicilian Sunset, Negroni, and a variety of Cocktails, Sangrias, Wine and Beer.

Via Napoli Cost

Is Via Napoli EPCOT Worth the Cost? Whether you’re dining at Via Napoli for lunch or dinner, the prices are a bit higher. Pizzas range from $25- $60 dollars, depending on what you order. And pasta and meat dishes hover between the 30-40 dollar mark. For us, this felt pricey. Thankfully the pizza menu is varied enough that you could grab something on the low end of the price range. Either way though, it’s not necessarily cheap.

It’s not as cheap as other budget-friendly restaurants like Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom, or Toledo at Coronado Springs that warrants a high price tag. That said, as far as Pizza in EPCOT goes, it is some of the BEST.  All in all, we loved the pizza. We weren’t thrilled that we had to pay for the salad or the bread. And when it was all said and done, our meal for three of us was about $70 dollars. Which truthfully was a BARGAIN, compared to some of the meal options available.

Does Via Napoli Take the Passholder Discount?

YES! Disney World Annual Passholders receive 10% off at Via Napoli. This Discount applies to the regular price of food and nonalcoholic beverages (excluding applicable tax and gratuity). Discount is not valid on New Year’s Day, Easter, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

Via Napoli Pizza Window Taglio al Pizza

If you’re not heading to Via Napoli for a dining reservation then you can stop by the quick service counter when it’s open. Taglio Pizza is the Walk Up Window at Via Napoli Epcot and is located right next to main entrance of the restaurant. While this pizza window isn’t always open, if you get a chance to eat here, you will be pleasantly surprised with some classic Italian pizza that easily makes our Best Pizza at Disney World list. This thick-crust pizza is a sauce and cheese on a buttery fluffy bread dough-like crust, and comes in the shape of a square as big as your plate. It’s great for a grab and go lunch and you can settle in at one of the tables just outside the restaurant.

Via Napoli EPCOT Disney World Review

All in all, this was a good experience for us. And we’d probably go back if we were craving pizza or on the Disney Dining Plan with hopes of trying something more expensive. For us, this restaurant checked a lot of boxes. But, if you’re hoping for something more Disney, like Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, or with heavy cultural theming like Biergarten, then you may want to keep looking.

However, if you are in the mood for some high-class wine and cheese in a restaurant atmosphere, then Via Napoli EPCOT will probably meet all your requirements! If you’ve had the privilege of dining here, let us know what you loved and we’ll be sure to try it next time we’re in Epcot.
