The Belle Vue Lounge Breakfast at the Boardwalk Inn combines quick service, a throwback atmosphere and indoor and outdoor seating for breakfast or drinks. But not a lot of people know this little lounge exists! Super cute, the Belle Vue Lounge is only open at certain times acting as a quite space for the guests the rest of the day. But what can you do here? When are they open? What do you get? Let us fill you in!
The Belle Vue Lounge at the Boardwalk Inn
One of the more confusing elements of staying at the Boardwalk Inn involves breakfast. Strange, yes. But when you consider that the Boardwalk Inn doesn’t have a commissary like the Value or Moderate Resorts, not so strange after all. We can’t even begin to tell you the amount of people who came to this counter asking where breakfast is served! Luckily we found all the answers regarding where you can get breakfast at Boardwalk Inn, Walt Disney World.
Belle Vue Lounge at the Boardwalk Inn Resort, Walt Disney World
The Boardwalk Inn offers several options for breakfast. Boardwalk Inn’s home base for mug refills and breakfast options is actually The Boardwalk Bakery.
This bakery is not internally connected to the resort. You will have to go out onto the boardwalk and access the bakery from there. Mind you if you’ve ever been to the Boardwalk Bakery at breakfast time you’ll understand why we would choose other places to eat for breakfast. The Boardwalk bakery, while amazing for the random cupcake stop, is less user friendly at breakfast. The lines form quickly, the drink station is always busy and unfortunately our order usually gets messed up as we contend with all the other breakfast goers trying to pile into the bakery before the 9am rope drops. The Boardwalk Bakery also doesn’t have any indoor seating, and only a few outdoor tables. While we do love the boardwalk for outdoor eating in the mornings, it doesn’t work in all weather conditions.
You could also enjoy a full breakfast at Trattoria al Forno. While this location does host the Bon Voyage character breakfast, you can also request just the regular breakfast option as well if you want a classier sit down meal.
If you’re hoping to stay a little closer to home and don’t want to leave the resort to get breakfast than Belle Vue Lounge is a good choice. We were so glad we happened upon this cute alternative.
Belle Vue Lounge Atmosphere
Our original reason for trying the Belle Vue Lounge was the promise of a themed boardwalk hotel lounge from the 30’s and 40’s vibe. With old time radio music and shows, the chess tables, the old books, and vintage board games. All lined up ready to be played, we loved the idea of this super kid friendly morning location for breakfast.
If you’re fortunate enough to have a gorgeous morning there is also a covered porch for lounging and eating outside. What we liked most about the Belle Vue Lounge was that it is a super low-key breakfast option. Since most people don’t know about this little lounge, we didn’t have to contest with crowds, or lines, or not finding a table. And because it opens at 6:30am we were able to stumble in still wearing pajamas to get our breakfast. It was the perfect calm start to a day at Disney.
Belle Vue Lounge
Located on the lobby-level floor of the Boardwalk Inn, Belle Vue is tucked away off the main bridge area on your way to the resort rooms. The Lounge offers coffee and cocoa that you can refill in your mug (but if you want soda, you will have to go to the Boardwalk Bakery for that). You can stop by at any point in the morning and just fill up. If you’re grabbing breakfast there, they have a selection of pastries, egg sandwiches and fruit. What we most liked about this quick on-site breakfast is that it’s convenient, and offers mostly the same fare as Boardwalk Bakery.

The Croissant Egg sandwich is scrambled egg and cheddar on a croissant and comes with a side of apples. This is the exact same sandwich you’ll get at the Boardwalk Bakery. While we are used to, and absolutely love, the French Egg sandwich on croissant at Les Halles Boulangerie & Patisserie in Epcot, France, this one does the job if you don’t want to wait until 9 am to get into Epcot France. ( Note: The rest of Epcot doesn’t open until 10 or 11am but France is usually open early).
The cinnamon roll, while not as decadent or massive as the one at Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom is still a lovely delectable breakfast treat and great for sharing!
Boardwalk Inn Belle Vue Lounge Review
All in all we really liked this little breakfast option at the Boardwalk Inn. If you’re looking for something more grand you’ll probably be happier elsewhere. But we reveled in the fact that we weren’t standing in lines, or fighting crowds as we would have been at other resorts. You also don’t have to be a guest of resort to grab food or drinks here. Simply walk in right off the boardwalk and hang out. And since there are board games at the ready here, you can also indulge in a rainy afternoon break if needed. 🙂
