Bon Voyage Character Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno

Bon Voyage Character Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno

So we’re going to be entirely honest here and say I have a serious love/hate relationship with Character Meals. The practical side says they’re great! You don’t have to wait in lines, the characters come to you, what’s not to love?! While the introverted and slightly hungry side says, please just leave me alone and let me eat.

We will say however that the ability to meet both Prince Eric and Flynn Rider in the same setting at the Bon Voyage Breakfast was a lure we couldn’t afford not to take.

If you consider making a breakfast reservation for the Bon Voyage Breakfast, you also get to meet Rapunzel and Ariel.  Trattoria al forno is located on the Boardwalk, which is always a great getaway.

Ok so first things first. The Bon Voyage Breakfast is located on Disney’s Boardwalk. If you’re not familiar with that area, its located between Epcot and Hollywood Studios and you can read more about that here.

The Food at the Bon Voyage Breakfast

It is in Trattoria Al Forno and is actually one of Walt Disney World’s newest character breakfasts.  In our opinion, it may just be one of the best character meals.

For starters, this is not a buffet. As much as we know people love buffets, trust us when we say, you will get plenty of food. They bring out assorted pastries at the beginning of the meal, give you the option of a fruit cup or yogurt parfait on the middle and the main course is just huge.

We got the Rapunzel pancakes, Triton’s Shipwreck Al Forno, which is essentially a gigantic delicious breakfast calzone and the Tangled Eggs.

The pancakes were light and fluffy, the calzone was so flavorful and a really unique offering for breakfast and the eggs, well they’re eggs but good nonetheless if you’re looking for a protein heavy breakfast.

The portion sizes here are pretty generous as well, so you won’t be hungry later on.

We love that its not a buffet personally because I feel that the quality of food is just so much better. And we actually couldn’t finish all of our food because its basically like a 3 course meal.

And honestly, for a character meal, the Bon Voyage Breakfast wasn’t too expensive. For $34/ adult and $20/children 3-9, its definitely one of the more affordable character breakfasts, or meals for that matter.  If you read our review of breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table, you will know this is a much less expensive character breakfast. In Walt Disney World standards, its one of the more reasonably priced options.

Do we recommend the Bon Voyage Breakfast?

Yes! We absolutely recommend getting a reservation for the Bon Voyage Breakfast. Not only is it super fun, with characters you don’t usually get to meet, but the food is great, the atmosphere is beautiful and the price point is reasonable enough that it won’t have you regretting splurging on your morning meal.

You can also grab a non-character breakfast here, with access to all the same amazing food, for a little cheaper.

And really? Flynn Rider’s smolder?? I guess you could call it the start to the best day ever.
