So we’re going to be entirely honest here and say we have a serious love/hate relationship with Disney Character Meals. The practical side says they’re great! You don’t have to wait in lines, the characters come to you, what’s not to love?! While the introverted and slightly hungry side says, please just leave me alone and let me eat. But the Bon Voyage Character Breakfast was different.
What Characters are at the Bon Voyage Character Breakfast at Trattoria Al Forno?
What Disney characters can you meet at the Bon Voyage character breakfast? You meet Prince Eric, Flynn Rider, Rapunzel and Ariel. So it’s lovely and a great way to get in a bunch of character meet and greets you don’t have to wait in line for later. And these are such rare characters you don’t get a chance to interact with elsewhere. So it’s a great way to get more Disney character autographs in your autograph book and a great meal too. We also love that you automatically get the signed card with your meal. And the characters make the rounds one at a time, so while you do have to stop and snap a photo every once in a while, its less of a production.
Where is the Bon Voyage Character Breakfast at Disney Located?
Ok, so first things first. The Bon Voyage Breakfast is located on Disney’s Boardwalk. If you’re not familiar with that area, its located between Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You can reach this area of Walt Disney World by taking the Disney Skyliner to the Epcot International Gateway. Once there you turn right and walk towards the Boardwalk. You can read more about the Disney Boardwalk here.
The Bon Voyage Character Breakfast Menu
Trattoria al Forno at Walt Disney World may just be one of the best character meals. For starters, this is not a buffet. As much as we know people love buffets, trust us when we say, you will get plenty of food. They bring out assorted pastries at the beginning of the meal, give you the option of a fruit cup or yogurt parfait as the second course, and then you select your main course from the menu. It is a TON of food. Check out the Trattoria al Forno Menu to see what catches your fancy.
We got the Rapunzel pancakes, Triton’s Shipwreck Al Forno, which is essentially a gigantic delicious breakfast calzone, and the Tangled Eggs.
Rapunzel Pancakes
The pancakes were light and fluffy. These fluffy buttermilk pancakes are served with fruit syrup and come with bacon or sausage. These were great. We loved the powdered sugar Tangled sunshine on the top and it’s an excellent option for little ones.
Triton’s Shipwreck Al Forno
The featured dish on this menu combines both your favorite Italian and breakfast. This breakfast calzone is stuffed with scrambled eggs, cured meat, and a blend of cheeses. It’s all in an oven-baked dough and served with Sunday gravy. Yum!!! The calzone was so flavorful and a really unique offering for breakfast. Highly recommended if you’re looking for something special.
Egg Omelet with Salmon
An excellent protein breakfast, and thankfully light enough after the first and second course, this dish was an egg white omelet with smoked salmon, goat cheese, spinach, mushrooms, and tomato. Very good.
The portion sizes at Trattoria al Forno are pretty generous as well, so you won’t be hungry later on. We love that it’s not a buffet personally feel that the quality of food is just so much better. And we actually couldn’t finish all of our food because it’s basically like a 3-course meal.
Disney Character Breakfast Cost
For a Disney Character Breakfast, the Bon Voyage Breakfast wasn’t that expensive. So that was awesome. For $34/ adult and $20/children 3-9, it’s definitely one of the more affordable character breakfasts or meals for that matter. If you read our review of breakfast at Cinderella’s Royal Table, you can see where we are coming from here.
Do we recommend the Bon Voyage Breakfast?
Yes! We absolutely recommend getting a reservation for the Bon Voyage Character Breakfast. It’s definitely on par with the Topolino Terrace Character Breakfast and so much cheaper than others we’ve had. Not only is it super fun, with characters you don’t usually get to meet, but the food is great, the atmosphere is beautiful and the price point is reasonable enough that it won’t have you regretting splurging on your morning meal. You can also grab a non-character breakfast here with access to all the same amazing food, for a little cheaper. But really? Flynn Rider’s smolder??!?! How could you pass that up? We guess you could call it the perfect start to the best day ever.
