The kids are out of school, the weather is getting hotter, and summer is officially here. Whether or not you’re planning to take a vacation to Walt Disney World this summer, there’s no reason you can’t conjure up a bit of that Disney magic at home, right? Read on for all kinds of ideas for a Disney summer at home.
Disney Summer at home
We love bringing Disney magic at home. And honestly, we don’t really love going to the Disney Parks during the summer. Between the intense heat and humidity in Florida and the crowds, we are a bit happier to stay home during the hottest part of the year. The Disney Parks are different during the summer, and while it’s still magical, it’s just not our favorite time to go. So here are a few ways we like to bring Disney to us instead!
Disney summer treats at home
We love treats! If you follow us here or on Instagram, I’m sure you’ve seen our love for Disney snacks at some point. We love trying them in the Parks; and when we can’t be there, we love recreating them at home. And if you’re not a baker or the DIY type, there are plenty of simple treats you can make or even find at the store!
This Dole Whip Pineapple Tea Latte that we recreated last year is so refreshing and has a perfect summer flavor! And if you’re a fan of Disney’s POG juice, also known as Jungle Juice, these POG popsicles are a real treat for hot days.
We love Disney copycat recipes. Here are a few of our favorites to make at home for the summer!

Where to buy Disney Snacks at home
Disney snacks are everywhere! You just need to know where to look. You can find a lot of Disney snacks at simple places like Target. We love these Mickey ice cream bars and Mickey Ice cream sandwiches that Target sells. There are also easy grab-and-go snacks like Mickey goldfish crackers, also available at Target and Walmart. Your local grocery store likely sells Disney fruit snacks and other treats that are simple to grab and add to a picnic or packed lunches for summer camp or work.
Disney food is literally everywhere! So it’s very easy to find Disney treats in your own backyard. There are even ice cream shops all around the country that now sell dole whip!
Disney Outdoor Movie Night at home
We love being outside during the summer when the weather allows of course. And there are so many fun ways you can add a bit of Disney into your outdoor summer activities. Why not set up a movie projector outside and have an outdoor Disney Movie night? Complete with summery snacks like popcorn and s’mores. It could just be like your very own Disney Movies Under the Stars at home!
runDisney summer virtual running series
If you’re one who loves to run for bling, why not include the runDisney summer virtual running series in your summer? This is a fun summer activity you can do with the whole family. Complete with everything you need to complete this challenge at home, we think this is a fun way to add some Disney magic into your summer without having to travel far.
Disney Scents at Home
Disney smells! There’s nothing like them really! And what’s even better is being able to have the comfort of your own home. For summer, why not add a few Disney smells to your daily routine. Smells from summery places at Walt Disney World like the Polynesian Resort, The Beach Club or even some of our favorite smells from Soarin.
Here are a few of our favorite Disney scents from Bath and Body Works to give you those Disney smells at home.
- Lakeside Morning will remind you of Pirates of the Caribbean
- Vanilla Bean is the perfect replica scent for the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor
- Crystal Waters and Frozen Lake are two candles at Bath and Body Works that remind us of Flight of Passage
- Eucalyptus Rain is a great dupe for the smells of the Dolphin lobby
You can also find Disney-themed candles at companies that specialize in making those specific scents. Magic Candle Co and Walter & Rosie Candle Co. are two that create all kinds of scents to help you bring the magic of Disney home with you. You can also find plenty of Disney-scented candles on Etsy as well.
How do you like to bring Disney into your home? Let us know, we’d love to hear your ideas!
