Planning a Disney Easter at Home

If you celebrate the Easter holiday, you know that there is usually so much to do this time of year. Spring cleaning, getting the garden ready, and making a few lists of things to get done now that the weather is better. For many it’s about looking forward to the  newness of the spring season, and dusting off everything that has been sitting for months under the winter snow. As such, we usually like to find things to perk up everything. Fresh recipes with springtime foods, springtime movies, and all things cheery and fun. Fresh starts and new beginnings is what this season is all about! And adding a bit of Disney Magic into the season is such fun. From decorating eggs to watching timeless movies, here are our TOP 5 things to do for a Disney Easter at home.

Carrot Cake Mickey Waffles

Make a Disney Inspired Easter Brunch

Who doesn’t love a good brunch, especially at Easter? We created these Carrot Cake Mickey Waffles for Easter, Springtime Mickey and Minnie Cake Pops, and even the Blueberry Ginger Tea from the Flower an Garden Festival. Add in some coffee or tea for the little ones, and some of your favorite brunch sides, and voila! An easy Easter brunch, with a pinch of magic.

Or maybe you want something a little more fresh? Bring some of the Flower and Garden Festival home with our copycat warm cheese strudel recipe! This recipe is light and flaky, with warm berries drizzled over top. It’s not technically Easter-themed, but it is very springy, and we think it’s a great addition to your Easter celebrations. Check out all our Disney Recipes for ideas.

Decorate Disney Easter Eggs

Does your family color eggs? We do! Even as my daughter has gotten older, we always make time to decorate some eggs for Easter. So, while you’re at it, make them themed! You can try something as easy as adding a little Baymax face or polka dots; or test your skills with these fun Easter crafts from Disney Family. And if you’re looking for a super DIY, Target has Disney Easter Egg kits as well! There are so many ways to make your Easter egg decorating Disney-themed, just be creative and have fun with it!

Disney Easter Movies on Disney Plus

Watch Disney Easter Movies on Disney+ Plus

April showers bring May flowers, right? That seems to be the case where we live, and we end up finding ourselves relaxing a bit more on a rainy day. When it’s time to relax for a few minutes and take a break, you can find shorts, cartoons and  Easter Movies on Disney+ Plus. Whether you’re nostalgic for some classic Winnie the Pooh, The Sound of Music or something newer like Burrow, we love that we can see these Disney+ Plus Easter Shows all springtime long on Disney Plus.

Have a Disney Easter Egg Hunt

Walt Disney World and Disneyland both hold Egg-stravaganza Easter egg hunts. In fact the Epcot Easter Egg Hunt is a great place to get some ideas for your own Disney Easter Egg Hunt at home! With a variety of eggs all decorated like easter bunnies, you can take a look at the post to get more ideas. Once you’ve decorated your Disney Easter eggs, plan an egg hunt! Or use plastic eggs decorated with Disney stickers. Set it up scavenger hunt style or keep it simple!

Disney DIY Tsum Tsum Easter Basket

Fill a Disney Easter Basket

Do your little ones love all things Disney? Or maybe you do! Regardless of whose Easter basket you’re filling, making a Disney-themed Easter basket is easy! Luckily, places like Target and Walgreens tend to have Disney-themed candy for Easter, if you like sweets in your basket. Add in a Disney plushie, a coloring book or a Disney book and you’re all set! It doesn’t need to be complicated. Little ones will love Disney bedtime stories; while teens and adults might enjoy the Disney Twisted Tales series.  A few years ago we made a Tsum Tsum themed Easter basket and it was a hit! And even though Tsum Tsums are no longer around, you can easily recreate the idea using Disney Wishables or even Pop Funko figurines or plushies.
